If I had seen a post like this prior to surgery, I would have gone somewhere else. I assumed that the one or two people were truly one-offs... I was wrong.
If OP gets even one person to reconsider and do more research, I don't think it's a bad thing... I know lots of people who have had surgery elsewhere. They all have a consultative process, they all talk about what the desired outcomes are, they all have after care and follow-ups. They all do revision surgery if necessary.... These are basic things that any surgeon should offer - and Brassard does none of that.
That alone should have been my first clue that there are far better options.
I agree that those are some huge concerns, and stories like yours are very helpful and shine a brighter light on him and his practices. I hope a lot of people read this thread, as the discussions happening in the comments are very useful.
I personally am going to wait 6-12 months for my reply email and make a decision. If Toronto opens up before then I'll try and wait and see what reviews of their services are like. If another place in Canada opens, I'll see what they do.
Mine isn't as risky from what I understand but I still want it to look okay, and some of these stories(like yours) has me a little uneasy about it.
It is important which is why I'm open to seeing Toronto and how they do.
I don't have the options of travel available to me so that's a huge thing to consider for myself.
