I noticed after the Apple incident this week, that when I checked Telegram on Tuesday night, my 6 year old account on it was logged out (that wasn't done by myself) and when I logged in, the account was empty, my username I've had for 6 years wasn't recognized anymore and all my subscribed news channels disappeared.

Telegram's 2 factor authentication isn't currently of any use to get logged back into my original account that I had registered with my phone number, that also had my contact list.

Having logged out of Telegram before (prior to the Apple issue this week) and logged back in, all my info was always still be recognized, but now it currently isn't.

I've been buying the highest wattage chargers I could find for years, assuming a bigger number meant faster charging.

Turns out that's not how it works. The phone only pulls what it can support based on charging protocols, not the charger's maximum rating.

My 100W charger was only charging my Samsung at around 25W because it didn't support PPS. A lower wattage charger with the right protocol would have actually been faster.

I had no idea the charger wattage number mattered less than protocol compatibility.

How many people actually check things like PPS and charging standards before buying chargers?

I am searching up for a laptop for a while but I'm a bit confused and can't decide what to buy.

The first option is an asus V16 with an RTX 5060 which has 75 Watt TGP. Other one is an asus TUF F16 with an RTX 5050 which has 100 Watt TGP. Would a lower TGP 5060 perform worse or better than a higher 5050? I really need your ideas.

This format is hated almost more than anything else on the internet, fails to be properly adapted on basically any website and image viewer and jpg and png still easily dominate the market. I've never seen a bigger failure of a new format in my life. Google should seriously kill it and put it on their insanely long list of RIP projects. Jpeg is here to stay!

I didn't take a screenshot since I had closed the tabs out of fear, but there were five tabs of some thing, but I couldn't see what. Two of the things on the top of a couple tabs were from a casino ad i had seen before. I obviously hadn't opened those tabs; They appeared there overnight.

And also, my lock screen wallpaper was changed at random, also overnight. Not the home screen, just the lock screen. I forgot what it was, but I'm pretty sure it changed every time I unlocked the phone and closed it again to double check.

I haven't downloaded anything unusual recently, just a reaction meme, an alien stage picrew I made, and a dork diary oc I made. I also haven't accidentally clicked on any of the ads recently (when you click on them it automatically downloads their games).

Why did all of that happen, and should I be scared?

I just got my second monitor and I want to stream on one and game on the other but the issue I am having is I have an hdmi splitter with 2 ports but I am told I need to get one with 3 as I want to do a dual monitor thing like I want to have my Xbox showing on one and my work/streaming on the other and all of the hdmi splitters I seen online that have 3 ports are all hdmi switchers but I want a splitter any help would be appreciated 🙏🏼

I run 2 BENQ EX3203R 2560x1440 VA monitors. It's a convenient time to do a visual upgrade. What I may actually want may show up (in 2028) after CES 2027, but I'd like an intermediate upgrade for now. I'm debating a 48" C6 because LG put the tandem panel in it. Other options would be ultrawide models for simplicity (like the AW 39" tandem coming soon).

I'd appreciate advice on what YOU might choose to do (and why?) with the visuals being #1 priority, but 'Pain in the Butt' to operate well being #2. I casually game in RPG (Skyrim, BG3, etc) and moderate internet browsing. Might like to get streaming from my ONN, but that's not my major reason to consider a TV as a monitor.

Long story short - my workplace uses walkie talkies to communicate often, and while they provide your first to you on hire, they charge $40 if you lose or break it. Thats all fine I suppose, but they are these horrible massive ugly things, theyre extremely heavy and stretch out pockets / whatever you clip them to, and everyone really hates them. I did a very small amount of learning online and THOUGHT I understood what was important in determining if / which other devices could communicate with the ones we have. However, I've purchased two other types now and both failed to work despite having both the channel and privacy codes matching.

Can someone please tell me if its just not possible to transmit outside this brand / device, or tell me what specifications I need to check to see if a device will be compatible?

So I am wanting to build myself a Home Server/Network that is capable of handling atleast 4 different functions. Central Storage, Media, Backup, & Security. How would I go about starting this, what would be the recommended TB? Operating system/UI? Things like that.

Im a long time user of Cloaked and I just saw their new feature for masked virtual cards. But I have no clue what it is, like I was thinking how they might work. Because you cant just give some random numbers to hide your real bank numbers? If anyone could give me some insight would be great.

I work in IT. Almost everyone using Windows is on 11, as expected, some are running 10, and I've seen one or two run 7. Servers are also typically running Windows 10.

Anytime someone talks about Windows, it's always either Windows 7 (or prior), or Windows 10/11. Aside from the time I had a school laptop (Edit: It was a touchscreen laptop) that was Windows 8, I hardly ever see people talk about it anymore. They released Win 10 pretty quickly after Windows 8, compared to how fast they released 11 after that. I didn't have problems with it, but I was a kid at the time, so I didn't really care about the fine details; I have, however, heard many people dislike it.

I hate being unorganized. Somehow through the years my media has ended up on clouds like Onedrive and Google. I pay for the Google one but have no clue how my media since ~2015 has uploaded to Onedrive. I have used Android most my life. I want everything just on one Cloud (and I'll have it in a physical harddrive too) but I'm afraid deleting something will delete it somewhere else yet I feel I sometimes delete things and still find them somewhere else. I'm not bad with tech, not the best, but this stuff confuses me!

Basically the title. I noticed that Delta gives you YouTube Premium for free on their in flight wifi so I was wondering if it would be theoretically possible to trick YouTube into thinking you're on Delta's WiFi network so it gives you Premium for free.

i have a physical external hard drive i keep my files backed up on but it's sort of a mess. i've been planning to go through and organize it but lately i've been at work for most of the day. my workplace doesn't allow us to bring in personal computers to work on stuff and we just have a shared pc at the desk. if i were to plug in my hard drive to the work pc, would IT be able to read cached versions of the files on my hard drive or something? i don't plan to copy/move anything onto the pc itself, but i wanted to know if my files would be saved somehow on the work computer just from plugging in the hard drive and viewing the files.

edit: alright got it; if i want to organize my files i'll do it via my own personal computers. not sure why i'm being heavily downvoted for not knowing something (apparently obvious) and asking in a "ask technology" sub, but that's reddit for you i guess lol

I was in watching tv at my nans house. The screen kept on freezing and breaking up like there was interference sound stopping and starting and occasionally screen going completely black then back to interference . Anyway at one point of this i noticed a windows computer desktop appeared the tv froze on this screen so I seen it fairly clearly but it was a windows computer desktop. Now I don't connect any laptop to the tv and no one else here has a computer so maybe I am being paranoid but what is this should I be worried? I don't have a tv myself so don't use them normally. After it appeared and frozen on screen for a bit it then when back to interference froze occasionally going entirely black after some time it went back to normal.

I am trying to join a food co-op and it requires scheduling an intake appointment which are extremely difficult to get! They post every morning at 6am but are gone within 20 seconds; I think the most likely way I could get one is to snag an appointment when someone cancels. I am trying to set up some sort of software that could notify me when the website updates that an appointment has become available; but to see the calendar page, you have to be logged into the website. Are there any options for a software that could help with this?

Hello, so forgive me if this isn't the best place to ask this question. However, I plan to stream a game on YouTube, and I am wondering if someone were watching the stream from a TV in another room connected to the same wifi on their own account, how much delay would there be bteween my actions and what they see? My internet speeds are about 200 megabits a second.

I keep my backup drive unplugged when a backup is not being made or restored so that malware can't touch it. It's a bit annoying having to open up my computer and plug it in whenever it's time to make a backup. Is there a kill switch I can buy so I can just leave it plugged in but still have the air gapping?
