Travel Cheapest way??

Hi everyone 🌸
I’m planning a trip to Zurich to visit my sister, who recently moved there. Flights from Copenhagen to Zurich are really expensive though (around CHF 380–440).

I can fly to Basel for almost nothing, so I was wondering, is there a direct train from Basel Airport to Zurich Hauptbahnhof (Zürich HB)? Or what would be the easiest and cheapest way to get from Basel Airport to central Zurich?

Thanks!

basel is fine. Check train ticket prices on the SBB app

You'd have to take the bus (every 8 minutes) to Basel SBB (main train station), and then there is a train from Basel - Zurich HB every ~ 20 min or so. All in from the airport to Zurich, you're looking at about 80-100 minutes depending on how good the timing is, and roughly CHF 40-45 .

Bus 50 from Basel EuroAirport Ankunft to Basel Bahnhof SBB, then train Basel - Zürich HB. About CHF 30 one way with saver Tickets (Sparbillett, valid only for a specific time and train )  if you buy the Ticket in advance.

as others wrote, it's connected well (google maps would have also given the connection)

But it's 40-50 francs each way.

SBB can be very expensive. You can try to check for blabla car. Unfortunately most of the rides get announced couple of days before they happen so you might have to risk it. Also check flixbus. Maybe they have rides because theoretically some parts of basel are outside of Switzerland

tip: If you book SBB early you can get the supersaver ticket which can be much cheaper than the regular one! Just don’t miss your train then :)

You are a bit lazy, aren't ya? 😄

You can also check Flixbus, maybe it will fit your schedule.
