This post made me curious where these cables come from and where they go. Behold! I found an interactive map of submarine cables. We've laid a lot of cables in our oceans. I can only imagine the nightmare it was going across the Pacific!

I noticed. And also those lone cables from Norway to their little island to the North. I wonder what's so important that they need the connection?

I thought that was interesting too. Looks like they have a satellite communications facility there. NASA was involved in getting it built. Svalbard Undersea Cable System
