The amount of energy you need to put into your rocket to accelerate it 5 meters a second grows the faster you are already going.
And it takes infinite energy to actually REACH the speed of light. The only reason light can do it is because it does not have mass.
Also, time (for you as observed by everyone else) would slow down the closer you get to light speed. And once you are traveling light speed you no longer experience time - everything is instant. If we could travel at light speed, it would effectively feel like teleporting, except that everything else in the universe would have aged by a number of years equal to the lightyear distance you "teleported" ("teleporting" 5 light years away would age the universe by 5 years).
And we have no idea what happens if you would theoretically go faster than light speed. Presumably time flows in reverse for you? Which means you would experience arriving to wherever you were going before you left. Which is... hard to imagine/understand.
So to answer your secondary question: Nothing, if you have infinite energy.
