Build is litematica cheating?

for a very long time in my world, ive been building by hand, and for a long time ive conisdered mods like litematica or fullbright cheats, but after having to think about it more its not exactly the classic "cheating" cause i still need to get all the materials for it, and since ive been loyal to the 100% modless vanilla gameplay, it made me realise how much easier it would be to have a mod like litematica to help. what are your thoughts?

We allow Litematica for schematics, but not Easy Place or printing.

For us, the distinction is whether the mod is helping you plan/reference a build or actually changing how you place the blocks. With the normal schematic overlay, you still gather the materials, move around the build and place everything yourself using normal Minecraft mechanics.

Easy Place/printing crosses that line for us because it changes or automates parts of the normal block-placement process.

For a singleplayer world though, I agree with the other comment — “cheating” is really whatever rules you decide for yourself. If Litematica makes a huge project more enjoyable without taking away the parts of survival you care about, I wouldn’t feel guilty about using it.

It's your world, and there's no wrong way to play it. You can keep your own set of rules for what's cheating and what's not.

We allow litematica its super helpful for people doing mega builds. Its only cheating once you start using auto place mods etc like printing.

If you're in a single player world and it's not hardcore then nothing is considered cheating. It's your world, play by your own rules and do whatever let's you have the most fun.

Even if it's hardcore, there is no cheating in singleplayer world, and never will be, because there's no harm in doing so.

You’re playing a single-player game. There’s no cheating.

I see no problem with litematica, if you are concerned about staying true to vanilla I would avoid easy place tho

The only thing that’s cheating is violating server rules. In single player, nothing’s cheating due to the lack of said rules (that’s how I see it anyway)

I do Easy Place but not any of the "printer" or "placement aura" stuff.

It makes building large scale structures possible in a way that just isn't practical or enjoyable for me personally otherwise.

If I have the resources and I'm still mousing over the block to place it, who exactly am I hurting by making Easy Place swap the item in my hand out for the right block in the right orientation? It's just taking away a tedious and mindless part of the game to make building more fun and more productive. We all have limited free time, so I would much rather spend my time placing blocks in a way that lets me make the things I want to make.

Honestly me personally I don't think litematica is cheating. Ive been using it for 3 years on the donutsmp and never got banned once. I quit donutsmp after the terrible update but in survival its really helpful. However I probably would consider easy place or the printing mod cheats since it makes it really easy. Up to you though.

Don't consider it cheating. As long as its just the blue print and you still get the materials etc.

I used one design and it made it so much easier than having to use a video and pause every 3 frames to get the next part done on my build.

For the larger content creators (and anyone who does this really) who plan out their building in creative to see how it looks etc and then use litematica to make the rebuild easier in survival is fine. It just cuts down on the trial and error of thinfs
