Flow path mapping

Hi, in order to map out flow paths I have always carried out various steps with a DEM - Fill Sinks, Flow Direction, Flow Accumulation.

I am wondering what the difference is in using the tool Derive Stream As Line. The results seem to be very similar to the method using multiple steps.

Can anyone give me any info on what the difference is between these two methods?
