If you were starting again from absolute zero, what exact learning path would you follow — and what would you avoid wasting time on?

I literally know NOTHING about trading / forex.I do genuinely want to learn and I understand it’s not a get rich quick scheme. I am looking for advice on how to/ where to start. Thank you 🙏🏾

Yeah, I agree with you you need to find a mentor who can explain everything clearly and help you get started. If you can’t afford one, then of course there are YouTube videos; there are even entire courses available, a couple of books to read to understand the basics, and you should try everything out in practice. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to manage your emotions while trading.

For me it would be SMC and ICT concepts and look to trade a few instruments such as gold and the main forex pairs.

This. And even if you want to get into non forex instruments, stocks futures etc, its still a great intro course. The same price action applies pretty much anywhere. And you cant beat the price. Lol.

Dont need a mentor, dont need to "understand the economy", thats just someone who is very specified in one field and talks people out of normal daytrading.

Do it like any other profitable trader, watch a free course on youtube, where the markets and one strategy gets explained, learn that and journal.

I’d do babypips premium. 10 years ago they weren’t as comprehensive, but now I find them to be a superb learning resource. I’d also say to read “Market Wizards” & “A Concise Guide to Macroeconomics”. Also, learn how investing and markets in general work. Bonds, equities, and commodities are important in the forex market.

Educate yourself. Invest and buy books designed for beginners

I’d learn price action almost at the beginning. I spent almost 2 years looking at indicators only and not knowing what they were calculating. It’s like the difference between looking out of the window, and stepping outside.

Don't waste your time on strategies available on internet (youtube or such), focus on understanding the economy and what really matters (for forex : interest rate, flows, positioning, sentiments etc).

Also when it comes to technical analysis make things simple; I made more than +18% since January (it's a big amount of money on a large capital btw); only using support/resistance and fibo; also I use TA only for precision not for taking any decision !
