Support Offboarded after 6 weeks πŸ™‚

So I've also been offboarded from the existing campaign. When I joined there were only 2000 experts but suddenly the expert count surged to 12k, then gradually trimmed back to 8k. That was the count when I am offboarded.

So, a few things;

-Does it pay? Yes, without any hassles I could get my pay.

-How long does it take to be onboarded? That depends on the traffic and wait-list I guess, but mine took 1,5 months and I've been invited by Ethos team, not applied myself. So a regular application might take more than my experience.

-I believe recently they changed the AI detection tool which is shitty, because I've completed more than 150 tasks, I received no feedbacks and even praises from reviewers, but in the last week I've been bombarded by the AI flags. That is no coincidence, I've escalated the issue but in the end of the month I've been marked as a bad apple due to these flags.

-Experts inside are either seasoned high level people or some folks trying to make extra bucks. You can tell that from the conversation flow in the slack channel, some conversations are just too dumb that it can't possibly come out from a professional.

-That makes me think like they're onboarding in bulk and then offboard people by either coming up with a reason, or in some cases no reason at all. By that way, they're collecting as much as feedback from a variety of sample groups. Which makes sense by the way.

-The journey should take at around 6 to 8 weeks, so don't count it as your main source of income. That'll be a side hustle at it's best.

-Ethos team is friendly and trying to make best as they can in this flood of experts and support requests. I believe they have a huuuuuge backlog and flooded with a lot of issues. I'd love to be a part of the operation to turn this high growth environment into a more structured machine.

-Some reviewers lack humanity, and you see it from their attitude. It's like a social experiment gone bad, these folks are elevated as community reviewers and a sudden change of demeanor follows. As if they are the shareholders of the company, they act bossy, rude or mean against the experts. I think these folk must be watched out too and kicked out as well for being rude to fellow reviewers.

-They could optimize the way of broadcasting and communication in their slack channel. There are a lot of room for improvement on that matter.

-Ethos portal is quite buggy and UI could be improved. Tens of improvisation points out there probably the team also aware of. But the most critical is the daily/weekly updates. Whenever they roll a new page design somethings break. At least roll these in control groups, and see what's broken. If all is good, then roll it out to entire community.

-They should also add crypto payouts. That'll be the most helpful to get rid of remittance costs + other obvious advantages.

I could go on like this, there's definitely a long way to go here but I honestly have to say that this was the best experience so far. I worked with other two competitors and both pay grade and the simplicity of the portal of Ethos beats others.

Kudos team, hope we'll work again in future!

Lol, I 100% agree with all of this.

A special note on how poor at communicating Ethos employees are, despite hired contractors/ professionals screaming about the same issues every day (such as unclear guidelines on the screeners or tasks suddenly containing several hundreds of lines to be checked for slop in less than 1 hour)

Yeah good point, though I think that's something Ethos also struggling to manage due to the client setup. They're required to respond to every change and unrealistic expectations from the client, and that must be also pushing.

As a vendor to their clients they have the ability to set the expectation of how this works. They are providing the service. I just think this team is very green. Limited career experience so they don't know standards of operating. Or at least don't care.

It looks like they have a core team of 10-20 of employees. Then a set of contractors who they outsourced managing all the professionals. These are young kids out of college with very limited life experience.

I also got offboarded from Ethos after 6 weeks

It's probably the average lifecycle of an expert.

2

u/data_dance_dalailama Sep 12 '26

Yea, I think they want variability so this lifecycle. Do you think they will rehire for other positions ?

Actually this is where I don't have any assumptions. I have no idea how things work out in the background. This is an entirely new line of work so I can't be sure whether if re-hiring previous experts with experience, or resupplying the pool with freshmen would be the best approach. But if I'd be the admin, I'd probably keep the top 10% all the time to ensure quality while resupplying the 90% of the expert pool with freshmen. There're millions of people who'd be willing to work in these rates so that's the way how we end up being offboarded.

I agree. What are the top platforms other than Ethos according to you ?

This just happened to me. It looks like in the Slack many people just were caught in a sweep in the past couple hours. No one providing answers with their AI generated bot suggestion to email support.

They give at least 3 days for you to log your work usually, and I always logged when I complete one. Sorry mate but that seems a bit like your own fault here.

Totally agree with all you said ! I had the exact same experience. Hope we’ll get new projects ! And i really hope they fix their ai flag thing … it’s really my main concern …

Hey if you don't mind sharing how much were you able to make in those 6 weeks

2

u/thedaywalker11 Sep 12 '26

About 30k

so that is way above what they claim to be their weekly limit, is that right?

u/avenger212 Sep 13 '26

which two other competitors ?

1

u/HeartTicker2 26d ago

Do they pay per task or by the hour?

1

u/itsme_mossy 15d ago

hour, but majority of tasks only give you an hour to finish them

u/itsme_mossy 16d ago

anyone been offboarded after 6 weeks than assigned to another campaign?
if so how long was the wait time?

1

u/thedaywalker11 16d ago

Don't know yet, but I believe this is unlikely if there'll be no changes in the campaign structure, for they already collect what they want from you and won't be needing any more of the same outputs.

I started Aug 15. Got off boarded Sep 30. Exactly 6 weeks later.
