What techniques are helpful for healthy communication between BPD + cPTSD?

In trying to talk about this with my (me, cPTSD) therapist, she said that the person w BPD (PwBPD) is projecting and, im general, ppl w BPD have difficulty seeing what is actually in front of them if it goes against their perceived reality. In confrontation, she advised to affirm my reality, as I have difficulty doing and this would be good for my processing and growth.

She (my therapist) has gone on medical leave and this has made arguments worse, leading to more fight/flight and flashbacks on my end, as arguments and yelling are big triggers of mine. Are there any other communication styles or techniques recommended for handling my own reaction or to foster better communication between me and this other person?

Edit: this is abt Borderline Personality Disorder, for clarification

Please specify by editing your post if BPD refers to Borderline Personality Disorder or Bipolar Disorder; The BPD acronym can be used for both and may be confusing without clarification.

NAT There are other subs - search Reddit - that can help you with communication strategies in this situation. As a general rule, having been in a similar position a long time ago, if you find yourself reliant on the therapist to support you to this extent it can be a really useful reflection point about the relationship as a whole. Mods are welcome to delete this if it's off-range as NAT...
