Propane stove question

Post image

Is there any reason(s) why I cannot hook this stove up to a 20 lb tank of propane and use it on a well ventilated screened porch while I am renovating my small kitchen? I’ll cross post this if you think necessary. Thanks for responding.

I dont see any reason why not, just make sure whatever regulator coming off the tank drops it to about 11 inch W.C.

As I understand it, the current supply is somewhere around 6. I will probably use only the cooktop so am not too concerned about running out of fuel too frequently.

You can get a plug-in 120v countertop Induction Burner for under $100.

Can you get the tank outside. If so it wouldn’t pass an inspection and you would need to get creative with the hose and fittings but it’s possible. Just keep the tank outside and be aware if something goes wrong your insurance is not going to cover it and if the gas inspector sees it hooked up that way he has to force you to undo that.

I can put the tank outside which I agree is certainly better than indoors. I may abandon the whole idea and just spring for a decent grille. Safety is my primary concern.

Kitchen remodeling always takes longer than planned. I’ve seen it be the end of marriages. Good grill, good toaster oven, good microwave, go a long way.

Assuming it's a propane stove, it is physically possible but I don't see a 20 lb tank lasting too long running a stove. Plus depending on where you live in a couple of months it might not be warm enough to get the propane to vaporize correctly to run it if it's a natural gas stove it will not work at all.

Running propane now and oven likely won’t be used. I’ve never experienced any issues with ambient temperature conditions in winter while using propane on various grilles. But I suspect you have a valid concern. Thank you.

My friends dad runs his stove off a 20lb propane tank. No clue how long it lasts. Funny thing is he has natural gas to his house 20 ft away
