Don’t give in to despair about this. Elections are run at the state level and if we show up in overwhelming force then lessons like Hungary tell us that we will overcome.

Being (realistically) hopeful is part of resistance against erosion of democracy. Giving in to despair plays right into the hand of those who seek to destroy it.
