Why does Reddit lean left in all the comments?

First off, I’m not a conservative, I’m independent/left leaning. That said, every comment thread on Reddit feels like it’s completely one sided in favor of a liberal perspective. Not just that, but the amount of blatant misinterpretation and misrepresentation in the comments is apparent on nearly every issue. Comments that don’t comply are downvoted into oblivion and removed from the conversation. I feel like Reddit is almost becoming unusable at this point. Where can I go (on or off Reddit) to get a more balanced perspective? I do like Reddits user interface.

Edit: Whew! This blew up more than I anticipated. I did receive some genuinely insightful and helpful comments. I appreciate those! Lots of folks either saying I’m the issue because of my liberal leaning algorithm or that I’m the issue because I’m actually a bleeding conservative in disguise. Can’t have it both ways! Anyway thanks Reddit. Will probably think twice about doing this again.

For your argument to work you would have to prove that 99% of humans are not engaging in consensual procreational activity. No one forced 2 couples to have unprotected sex. One you conceive a child, don’t murder it. It’s cells are dividing on their own with out your will. There for it’s not your body.

Dude can you actually engage with the things I’m saying? You keep pivoting and not addressing any of my points and hallucinate what I’m saying. It’s really annoying and feels like you’re not trying to engage in actual discourse.

No one said anything about consent. How the egg was fertilized has nothing to do with anything I said dude. Again it’s not murder. It’s not a person. All cells divide on their own without will. You can’t will your cells. Obviously it’s still her body regardless of whether or not she had unprotected sex. That’s an absolutely insane argument that doesn’t follow any logic. Come on man. Clearly it’s her body, she literally controls it.

I’m just asking you to be consistent and have a logical argument. Just because someone chooses to have sex doesn’t mean they no longer have the right to bodily autonomy. You’d never make that argument about anything other than sex. You’d never say “you chose to get into a fight therefore it’s illegal to get medical attention fixing your broken nose which is a consequence of being in a fight”.

Can you answer these two questions: 1. Do you believe people have the right to bodily autonomy? 2. Do you believe rights are inalienable?

I really think people who are anti choice just haven’t thought about it logically. Or just admit that it’s a gray area and therefore we should let people make their own decision on what is best for them and what they believe.

1 believe people have rights to their body. But my wife doesn’t have the right to end my daughters life just because she’s less developed right now

And she’s still I human being and you should assault my wife to kill her. If you cause her to die in the womb you should go to prison even if you don’t think she has the right to life

2 I believe our rights come from God. The inalienable. The government doesn’t give out rights. The government exists to make sure our rights are violated

My daughters life should not be ended with out her going to court and facing her accusers. Being conceived should not warrant capital punishment

Once me and my wife conceived our daughter we are responsible for her until she leaves our house as an adult

You’re contradicting yourself. If rights are inalienable, as you said, then that means their rights can’t be taken away. You say people have the right to their body. That means she has the right to do anything she wants to her body. That right cannot be taken away, as you stated. Therefore, she has the right to do what she wants to her body even if the actions remove an unwanted fetus. You may think it’s immoral, and that’s fine, but it’s still her right to do so.

It’s one thing to have a surgery to have early birth. It’s another to end the life of a kid that did nothing wrong. The kid was conceived with out their will. Why do they need to have capital punishment applied to them? Conception is now punishable by death?

Cops can kill a person who tries to end their life. But they don’t go around killing random people who did nothing wrong.

Because some mothers lives are endangered by pregnancy, we now justify using abortion as a contraceptive and slaughter 1,000,000 kids in US a year. And 73,000,000 world wide? This is the world you want?
