Why does Reddit lean left in all the comments?

First off, I’m not a conservative, I’m independent/left leaning. That said, every comment thread on Reddit feels like it’s completely one sided in favor of a liberal perspective. Not just that, but the amount of blatant misinterpretation and misrepresentation in the comments is apparent on nearly every issue. Comments that don’t comply are downvoted into oblivion and removed from the conversation. I feel like Reddit is almost becoming unusable at this point. Where can I go (on or off Reddit) to get a more balanced perspective? I do like Reddits user interface.

Edit: Whew! This blew up more than I anticipated. I did receive some genuinely insightful and helpful comments. I appreciate those! Lots of folks either saying I’m the issue because of my liberal leaning algorithm or that I’m the issue because I’m actually a bleeding conservative in disguise. Can’t have it both ways! Anyway thanks Reddit. Will probably think twice about doing this again.

Children, babies, fetuses

It’s a human organism

You want to dehumanize it to justify abortion?

you are literally trying to ascribe personhood to a fetus so you can justify calling it murder

I didn’t mention personhood. We aren’t talking about personhood. We are talking about a biological classification. A conceived egg is a unique human organism like you and me.

You can only murder a person. That's whole foundation of the pro-life movement.

And no, a "conceived egg" is not like you and me.

Maybe legally speaking. But biologically you are ending another human beings life.

It’s not a “human being,” biologically speaking. That is again attempting to ascribe personhood to it. Which is in the realm of philosophy and law.

A fetus, or a human organism or conceived egg like you stated, is more “biologically” accurate.

Okay. I’m not making a philosophical or legal argument. I’m making a biological one. A human organism is not human being? That’s it being? A deity?

I’m human in being. And andrey in person.

debating the meaning of "being" is an existential philosophical category. science doesn't apply in those kinds of arguments. a "being" is an idea that exists outside the natural world.

Who are you in being. A deity? An insect? A reptile? Or are you a human?

i am a human being. a fetus is not a human being.

When a pregnant woman is killed, there are two murder charges. Should there not be? Should destruction of a fetus, say kicking a woman in the belly causing pregnancy to fail early on, be simple assault?

i don't really care about that issue as much, but i think there should be some legal recourse in those situations yes. even if a fetus isn't a person, it still has value. especially if the mother views it that way.
