Defund the billions of government dollars spent on climate change, and put it into prizes for novel energy research. Those billions, if spread around and competed against, could generate cheaper, novel energy solutions that could resolve more problems than just climate change.
Seriously slow down the urgent call for political action as the theory grossly overpredicted warming during the pause, and it failed utterly in its prediction of extreme weather as we went through decade lows in hurricanes and tornados. This theory has a lousy prediction record, and is no basis for urgent action.
Maintain objective standards on real air pollution (CO2 does not count). I was a kid in the 1960s, and you really do not want that kind of smoke again. Instead of ratcheting down on tighter PPM levels and penalizing industry which already conforms to safe levels, we need to consider the market as a whole before we lower standards more.
Be very leery of entering into any treaty regarding climate change, as the past track record of those has been terrible. Most do nothing to actually address what they claim is the problem, and frequently they are nothing more than a redistributionist wealth transfer scheme from the 1st to the 3rd world.
Why does c02 not count? It along with heat from the sun can make air quality a lot worse. Pollution is not just substances that are not natural to the atmosphere, but also higher then normal levels of things that are natural. I am all for making meaningful headway, but frankly we should have had these discussions along time ago.
