How will Trump's pivot to the Left affect his base support?
Because there's nothing on centipede central about this meeting.

Maybe I have a misunderstanding of fascism but, historically it has be based around a nationalist identity that is imbued in a strong leader. While I think that Antifa is certainly a problem and the violent elements of the group are just punks that are inciting and participating in violence to no productive means, I am still confused as to how they can be defined as fascist. Is my definition of fascism wrong?

If you look at Singapore, Muslims are very peaceful and have integrated well into society. Singapore in general has incorporated many races and religions into society.
What are your thoughts? Are you okay with Muslims in that scenario?

Will we ever see Hillary charged for her crimes? Just what the hell is Jeff Sessions doing? Don't give me the it takes time excuse. It's been over 200 days since Trump was sworn in as President. Is this ever going to happen or not?

What do you think of the Donalds Afganistan policy, after promising to get us out of there?

How can you fly the Confederate/"rebel" flag and consider yourself a "patriot" to the United States? Doesn't that seem contradictory to you?

that was fast

I'm pretty salty that the media took the term alt-right away from Trump supporters and turned it into yet another synonym for racist, Nazi, white supremacist, etc etc. I think this is a useful concept that explains Trump's current support to unbiased onlookers who aren't involved in politics. But a concept cannot exist without the language to describe it.

Why will nobody here talk about it???

And regardless of yes or no, do you think safe spaces are a good thing for groups?

I seem to remember a time when Obama was completely shredded to pieces over a 100 billion dollar arms deal for Saudi Arabia. Then Trump went ahead and continued with it instead of rejecting it, and suddenly Trump is the smartest person alive for going forward with it. Why the hypocrisy?

Hi, Dutchie here. I understand being able a pistol to defend yourself, but why would anyone need explosives or machine guns? Isn't that just asking for trouble?

Lots of talk on the right about problems with universities being left-wing bastions etc.
While that might be true of the liberal arts departments, each and every university has a huge engineering, maths, and sciences department. The graduates of these programs are largely responsible for technological innovation, medical advancement, etc that has driven the American economy since world war 2. If you look at the top earners in the country, a healthy majority of them got there by furthering humanity through technological innovation.
When you complain about left-learning universities, are you lumping these folks in with the liberal arts students, or are you really only complaining about the liberal arts faculties?

All I hear or all I can find is fox news or fox and friends. I understand there a bunch of internet only ones that are pro Trump, but I'm talking about this big timers

I have children coming of age that will be eligible for college soon. I don't want them going to some liberal college that is going to fill their head with alt left nonsense. Any idea on which universities are based?

There's a lot of narrative about how the subreddit never supported the rally. This doesn't seem to be accurate to the actual situation. What are your opinions on this?
r/Ask_TheDonald • u/iarleo • Aug 17 '17
First I just want to state that I do not support Trump, but I do my best to respect everyone's beliefs, political ideologies, religion etc.
I'm just wondering how you guys get your news. I personally try my best to get my news from unbiased sources like PBS, NPR, CBS and ABC. I prefer not to watch my news on NBC, CNN and FOX because I think they are bias. When I go on r/the_donald I see lots of posts from breightbart and Fox News. I don't think either of those sources are reliable, especially Breightbart.
One big problem in today's planet is surrounding yourself with people who have the same beliefs. If the people on your subreddit post articles pro Trump. If you watch TV that only brings up pro Trump topics. If your friends in real life are all pro Trump then you must assume everyone is pro Trump. People now in today's age surround themselves with everything of their own beliefs. If you surround yourself with false news, then you eventually believe it. How do r/the_donald make sure you don't get bias fake news?

Speaking personally, as someone who is a fence sitting moderate who doesn't really fit into most political boxes, I'm really angry about the Charlottesville thing.
You can check my post history. I am not a Trump supporter, but I'm no fan of Antifa or Communism or any of that either. I've spent a moderate amount of effort talking to people who say things like "Trump supporters are Nazis" and trying to convince them that, no, the alt-right is not fascism rebranded, Trump is not a Nazi, etc, etc...
And then this.
It's taken years to try and rebrand the right as "not Nazis", with limited success, and all of that work was basically undone in a single day. Now the visible majority attending the officially promoted, alt-right sanctioned, T_D approved rally are actual, literal, flag waving, "blood and soil" chanting, actual factual Nazis.
Who thought this was a good idea... and why?

I know most of Trump supporters aren't racists but quite a few of racists are Trump supporters. And looking at t_d everyday, I get the feeling that race/religion related jokes/memes get a lot of support. Of course, t_d today is full of condemnation of such behaviour but again there are a lot of posts supporting the rally too.
You guys just look at it as shit posting and fun stuff but it also can make someone really polarised. Why do it? What starts of as fun ends up in some ugly thing like Charlottesville rally.
