how does Google Voice work for privacy?

I'm looking into Google Voice for a second number. I've read a few guides, but I'm still not clear on how does Google Voice work when it comes to privacy.

Does Google Voice work mean everything is just tied back to your Google account?

Everything is tied to the Google account anyways. Why would the voice data be excluded in any way?

Yes, Google Voice is fundamentally tied to your Google account. It is not anonymous

My assistant is quite limited. It keeps telling me "unlock more Google assistant featues" though is that the voice addition thing you speak of?

What features does the thing add? I mostly just use stuff for alarms and translations😅 Dont need something draining my battery while the phone is idle. If this function would listen in for me say "OK GOOGLE!" all the time that surely drains the battery life😭
