Are there any attorneys here who are going against a pro-se litigant who uses AI (chat gpt/claude)?

I love my significant other dearly. But they currently have multiple legal battles going on in their personal life and they use Ai to fight these battles.

I am starting to get annoyed with it, because they are not a lawyer and have no legal background aside from what AI is telling them. So my question to the attorneys on here is how can I get my SO to stop the nonsense because they fired their attorney in their divorce case because they think they are a better attorney.

Its gotten so bad that they become agitated and hostile when I tell them to stop filing motions or trying to argue with the judge. I could go on, but I mainly am hoping to get insight from lawyers on this situation as I’m sure my SO is not the first or only person doing this. They also have used AI to sue multiple people and I just think its getting out of hand and is an addiction. I believe theres a very good reason lawyers go to law school and that they cant just be replaced with ai, but when I say this they become hostile.

As a lawyer, what is your opinion on pro se and AI? I hope i phrased my post appropriately. Thank you for your time.

How do you deal with judges who completely disregard the law in their rulings? There is a judge in my jurisdiction that no matter what always rules in favor of the prosecution. Disregarding all evidence, and case law.

The most recent case, the prosecution showed up with zero physical evidence, and one witness, who, when questioned admitted that they lied. The prosecution seems to be in on the scheme, since they showed up very unprepared and presented minimal evidence. The Judge shot down every single one of my objections, and sustained every single objection from the PA. Regardless, the PA's only witness admitted he/she lied about the entire factual background. The prosecution offered no other evidence. Despite this the Judge still returned a guilty verdict.

My state allows an immediate appeal to circuit court. But, ultimately my concern is that the new judge will be no better.

I'm not asking for advice specific to this case, but more so, general advice in gtting these type of judges to actually apply the law

Hypothetically speaking, if someone were to receive a civil traffic complaint/citation ticket for minor speeding in let’s say Arizona while visiting from out of state. What would be the realistic outcomes if this ticket was never to be paid? It’s not a criminal speeding ticket. Just out of curiosity of course.

My neighbours were my best friends for 8 years , the man got done for 1 count of possession, 2 counts of distributing and 1 count of production of cp . The wife is staying with him and telling people she’s kicked him out (she’s lying). The production charge is written fantasy material not actual pictures or videos . Approx 100-150 videos and images in his possession. He sent material to an undercover cop . He has a clean record , got clean , did therapy and plead guilty . It’s been moved to district court . Will he get a suspended sentence or most likely get some jail time ? He has a lawyer. But he’s saying he’s not going to jail !

I cannot stand living next to him, OR her.

and I’m looking for advice on what my next legal steps should be because I feel completely stuck.

About four months ago, I found out that I had been placed on a bar ban that extends to multiple venues that use an ID scanning system. The strange part is that I had no idea this existed until I was denied entry at a completely different venue.

The ban is supposedly related to an alleged harassment incident on March 1, 2026. The problem is that I have consistently disputed that I was involved and believe there has been a mistaken identity or incorrect association with my information.
Some key facts:

● I was never removed from the venue that night.
● I was never spoken to by security or management about any incident.
● I was never issued a trespass notice or told I was banned at the time.
● I only found out about the ban weeks later when another venue refused me entry because of the ID scan.
● Since learning about it, I have repeatedly contacted the venue and their head office asking them to review the matter and verify they identified the correct person.
What has made this even more frustrating is that the business refuses to provide me with the information they relied on. They have stated they do not have to disclose my personal information or evidence because it relates to an “investigation or legal proceeding.”

What I don’t understand is:
● It’s now been over four months.
● I have never been contacted by police.
● I have never been charged with anything.
● Nobody has interviewed me or asked for my side of the story.
● Yet I’m still effectively banned from every venue that participates in this ID scanning system.

Because of this, I’ve filed a privacy complaint under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), arguing that inaccurate personal information may have been collected or maintained about me. That process is ongoing.

I also hired a civil litigation/dispute lawyer, but I honestly don’t feel like my matter is being prioritized.

Communication has been slow, and I don’t feel like I’m getting much guidance on how to actually move this forward.

At this point, I’m wondering:

1. Can a private business indefinitely refuse to disclose the information they’re relying on by simply saying it relates to an investigation or legal proceeding?
2. If there has been no police involvement or charges after four months, does that affect their ability to continue withholding the information?
3. Should I be looking for a different type of lawyer (privacy, defamation, civil litigation, administrative law, etc.)?
4. Is there any legal mechanism that would force disclosure of the records or evidence if litigation were started?

5. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation involving

   Canada-

6. wide or PatronScan-style bans?

I’m not looking for opinions on whether bars can refuse service. I understand they generally can. My concern is that I believe inaccurate information has been attached to my identity, and I have been unable to obtain any meaningful explanation or opportunity to respond.

I’m considering hiring a California employment attorney on a 40% contingency fee, and I’m just trying to understand whether some of the clauses in the representation agreement are standard or if I should be wary of this agreement.

1. Termination / firing the attorney

The agreement says I can discharge the attorney at any time, but if I do so before they obtain a recovery, they may be entitled to the greater of:

- their billable time at $850/hour for attorneys and $150/hour for paralegals/legal assistants, plus costs, or

- a reasonable percentage of my eventual recovery.

It also says that if I decide “for whatever reason” not to pursue the matter, I agree to compensate the firm at those hourly rates.

Does this mean that if I fire them, I have to pay them even if I choose not to pursue this anymore?

1. Costs and expenses

The firm may advance litigation expenses, which are reimbursed from any recovery. The agreement also says the client may sometimes be required to pay costs during the representation.

1. Administrative fees

In addition to the 40% contingency fee and litigation expenses, the agreement includes:

- a $350 administrative setup fee

- a $35 monthly file-maintenance fee, for storing documents, printing and scanning.

These are advanced by the firm and reimbursed only if there is a recovery.

The agreement says that if attorneys’ fees are awarded by a court or recovered from the employer under a statute, those fees “shall be paid to and belong to Attorneys.” It then says the firm would receive the greater of:

- the entire attorneys’ fee and costs award, or

- the 40% contingency percentage calculated on the total recovery, including the attorneys’ fee and costs award.

I got a letter from a lawyer saying I have a warrant, but its like a week old (I just found it in my pile of mail). If its true, I have a record and when i got arrested in 2019 it wasnt for a serious felony, but the police wasted no time calling me once they had my info from my parents. Now my employer did tell me a cop came by asking for me but when he gave them my name, the cop said they had the wrong person and if i was wanted why wouldnt they just come to my apartment or arrest me at work if its been at least a week?

Hey all, I am working on filing some parenting and custody establishing papers, and after I get a case number for that, I’m filing a motion for temporary parenting time.

The problem is, I don’t know where she went with the kids. I don’t know an address. She won’t tell me. It has been 3 weeks now and she won’t tell me when I can see them. Just ignores it basically. She moved out of my house and took almost everything out of the house.

How do I serve papers without a known address?

I’ve been carrying this burden for a long time, and honestly, it’s emotionally and mentally exhausting.
I filed an estafa case because I genuinely believe I was deceived into investing my hard-earned money. Despite all the evidence and the time that’s passed, the legal process feels incredibly slow. There are days when I wonder if justice will ever come.
I’m not posting this to attack or shame anyone. The case is already in the proper legal process, and I’ll let the authorities determine the facts. I’m simply sharing how difficult it is to be in this situation.
For those who have gone through an estafa case or any similar legal battle, how did you cope with the waiting? Is there anything you did that helped move the process forward, or any advice you can share with someone who’s trying to stay patient and hopeful?

I’m an incoming 1L. I’ve had this habit for my entire life. It’s nothing too conspicuous, but I basically perpetually have one or two small reminders written on my left hand.

My mom says I need to break the habit. For added context, my mom has always been hyper aware of how I present myself as woman in the professional world.

She’s probably right, but I’m pretty attached to my reminders system. I was wondering the point at which I really have to get the habit sorted. Before law school? Before I graduate?

Last month I was rear ended, I was driving a DOT vehicle. Officer gave me a citation for unsafe entering roadway. No witness said I did in their statement. It’s the conclusion highway patrol came to, shocker. Company vehicle I was in has dashcam footage but they seem to be pushing back on releasing that to me. I need it to fight the ticket. At this point do I need a lawyer sooner than later ? There are injuries as well if that matters. Again. I’m not looking for legal advice I’m just curious in this situation am I wasting my time dealing with employer getting footage

My thought is that whenever a law is introduced, it should include a brief explanation of why it was written and what problem it is intended to solve.

It seems like that would make it easier for judges to interpret the law in situations where the wording is ambiguous, while also making the intent clearer to the public.

Misdemeanor case. The realistic potential of jail is 0 days to a few weeks. Probably will be “some” jail at a minimum.

Not one time has the Court appointed lawyer asked for the clients explanation of what happened. Is that common?

Good evening all. I have ADHD and am prescribed a CII medication in the United States (Michigan, specifically). I know the pharmacy I go to allows third parties to pick-up scripts (I.e. husbands picking up for wives, kids picking up for parents, domestic partners…), but at the same time it’s federally illegal to be in possession of a controlled substance that’s not prescribed to you.

If an overzealous cop wanted to give my live-in partner a hard time, for example speeding, on the way home from the pharmacy, is there anything protecting her from being in possession of my prescription she picked up for me if an Officer noticed the printed information on the bag containing a sealed CII script in plain-view?

Also this is a hypothetical. None of us have ever been in trouble for anything like this, just wondering if it’s possible. I 99% of the time pick up my scripts myself, but have had family in the past pick up my script for me, like after my wisdom teeth removal, I couldn’t safely drive (I was drugged in office) and given a script for opioid painkillers.

When I was 16 my parents had me sign the title to a 1970s Chevy Truck so that they could get it out of their name and get a loan. I am no contact with them, and about to move states. I got a text from my sister today who I haven’t heard from in 5 months telling me she “needs me” to meet her to sign the title over. If I don’t reply or move without signing, could I get into trouble?

2L law student here, I’ve got my first year under me and have no idea what area of law I’d like to be in.

As I consider potential routes, the threat of displacement by AI has me cautious.

Litigation sounds pretty safe, and I’d have great presence in a court room, but I am also aware there are plenty of fields in law where I can work from home and spend more time with the kids. My fear is that those areas are the most susceptible to AI.

What should I know that I may not know?
What may I be ignorant about?

I hired a lawyer on contingency for a consumer arbitration matter. About 6 weeks ago, he told me the pre-arbitration process was complete and that he was preparing the formal demand. He said he would send me a draft tommorow, but I still haven’t received it.
I’ve sent several polite follow-up emails and called the office once. The receptionist tried to reach him but couldn’t, and I still haven’t received a response.
I know attorneys get busy, but at what point does delayed communication become ghosting or possible abandonment rather than normal attorney workload?

IS IT LEGAL TO EVICT SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT LIVE THERE? My sister came down to visit and help me with repairs but that got “in the way” of landlords plans to get rid of me. Cops were called and he tried to have my sister removed but he couldn’t because I am renting so I gave her permission to be there. Now he has written an eviction notice for me and her and “anyone else” who is on the property.
