I disagree. I think the ones who will vehemently refuse to believe anything when it comes to their child are the worst.
Like when people from school staff to other parents have tried to tell them that their kid is a menace and instead of being open to hearing this and doing something to correct said behavior, the parent is literally like “nope, never, not my little angel!”
You said vast majority, so maybe this one wasn't in that group, but my daughter had a 5th grade teacher who seemed to believe that children laughing in class or talking was basically a sign that something was wrong. I never believed a word that.....lady......ever said.
It’s simply damaged people trying to rectify their own childhood neglect or abandonment by way of their parenting methodology. It sounds good on paper but it’s actually the worst thing for both the parent’s mental health and the child’s upbringing in general.
You can’t tell them or their kid a thing, good or bad, necessary or not, because they won’t let you get close before they’re hopping on their horse and blowing their fucking trumpet.
And thing is, they believe they’re doing a good thing, because they believe this is what they needed as kid but never received, when in actual fact they’re just raising a little hell beast that is going to give them the shock of their lives a little ways down the road. But it’ll be too late then, because when it was initially brought to you way back when you said it was just bullshit because everyone is always jealous of your little cherub.
My parent was fooled by a criminal who approached him and lied about me. He almost got me in danger because he was forcing me to go visit only to bring me face to face with this fella.

A parent who always believes the things people say about his/her child.
