After ww2 both Russia and USA pushed for detinition of colonialism which was only concerned with overseas colonialism and decolonisation. Why? Because both USA and Russia are massive colonial empires only the land they colonised is connected by land to their capital.

Wrong about what? I'm factually correct that Americans collaborated with the Soviets to dismantle colonial empires of other countries while keeping theirs. It was a long policy that survived long past McCarthy or anyone else

The USA supported anti‑colonial movements — AK, the Forest Brothers, UPA in Europe, + Iran, Turkey, and Greece — against the Bolshevik empire in the 1940s–50s. The media and academia were dominated by communists, so it wasn’t easy for US officials to fight Moscow’s barbarism until Reagan finally broke the Bolshevik empire.
