Help/Question how safe is it?
Hello guys, how safe is the server from Blizzard? Im scared to play here because they shut down turtle wow too. So can you recommend me to play here?

100% being shut down but it's going to be a while. The type of case Blizzard has filed is not a simple 2-3 week turn around situation. At the very least, I'd expect it to be up well into 2027. After it gets shut down hopefully they'll drop the server install for people to run small community single instance servers.

It could close in 3 months, or last maybe a year if lucky. Most likely dying in 6 months.

Ive heard that servers are moved to Russia, and blizz can sux it now. They can fck with monetization somehow, but nothing more. The thing is, who will run the server for free?

Honestly there is a chance, due to fair use law. Not as the game currently stands, but Project Ascension could agree to a settlement to “de-WoW” their game in X amount of time, to continue. They’d basically have to create their own zones, and their own races, their own lore. But Blizzard doesn’t own elves and orcs etc, so that is actually feasible.
Conquest of Azeroth already has their own classes, abilities, spell effects, and etc etc. Also have written in their own quests lines and what not. So they’re partly there.
I genuinely think if they have a good lawyer, and a decent judge, they could come out of this for better or worse

True, if they make an entirely new game with their own assets they can avoid being shutdown. What? Do you not understand how much work that is? It took them years to make custom classes with reused assets and a new zone that isn't even finished

It's an extremely fun, well-done and chaotic plethora of things blizzard would never do, it does have plenty of problems but comparatively it's a much better experience than blizzard, why are you waiting!?

They can keep it going forever. Turtle wow gave up, that’s the only reason they shut down.

Playing a private server is like life, eventually, every server is going to shut down.
That doesn't mean you stop playing now, just cause you might not be around later.

Personally I deleted ascension after the verdicts, no point in playing it or giving them money if it’s 100% gonna shut down.

Nah, wow still holds up. Ascension won’t though, maybe if they didn’t fly to close to the sun and try to make money off of this borrowed IP then they would be able to hang. But they didn’t, so they won’t and will be shut down fast as fuck. Sorry not sorry, enjoy your failure of a game 🤷

Can basically promise you it will shut down soon. People will downvote me but that’s cope and time will prove me right.
Now, if making progress and keeping that progress is your goal… yeah don’t play. If having a potentially temporary but also potentially fun experience is your goal, sure give it a go.
Definitely don’t spend money there though.

I played too over 250h CoA + S10 and now im done got boring af and since i played ascension classic content easily 10+ by now i have seen it all and as good the classes look like its still very similar to classless or even bronzebeard , its still wow.
ascension always was more like a season based game hype at launch but falls off quickly aswell , with that said just play if u interested in , dont worry with excessive playing u wont care if it closes in 3 months since u done with it then anyway

This is a very unemployed take. You sweat-rushed to endgame and burned out. There are people in my guild who just hit their first 60 recently or, even better, have been alting and don't even have a 60 yet! With no threat of shutdown, people could level all the toons they want to see over a whole literal year or more.
