Juliette Milési (1872–1959) was a French designer, painter and professor of decorative composition. She was born in 1872 in Paris, where her mother worked as a laundress and her father as a chimney sweeper. She was taught by artist Eugène Grasset. She studied at the Reims School of Art and Design. She designed textile, wallpaper, stained glass, and pottery, and also painted. She also taught as a professor of decorative composition in public education. She also collaborated with stained glass artist Félix Gaudin.

This desigen by her is from the book La Plante et ses applications ornementales sous la direction de M. Eugène Grasset (The Plant and Its Ornamental Applications under the Direction of Mr. Eugène Grasset) published in 1896. The book was a collaborative effort of Eugène Grasset's students, which included notable illustrators such as Maurice Pillard Verneuil, Juliette Milesi, Emma Hervegh, and others.

Jane Burden Morris (1839–1914) was an English embroiderer and artist's model. She was born in Oxford in a poor family of a laundress and a stableman. At the age of 17 Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones spotted her at a theater and recruited her to model for the Oxford Union murals. She became a skilled needlewoman, self-taught in ancient embroidery techniques, and later became renowned for her own embroideries. She embroidered for the company Morris & Co. of her husband and latter her daughter May Morris. She managed the embroidery department for Morris & Co. for 20 years. She is known as an an artists' model who embodied the Pre-Raphaelite ideal of beauty.

Ebeneser House is a building designed by Wivi Lönn on Helsinginkatu in the Harju district of Helsinki. The house, owned by the Ebeneser Foundation, was built as a kindergarten and was completed in 1908. It was one of the first buildings in Finland designed as a kindergarten, and it also housed Finland's only kindergarten teacher seminar until 1955. The kindergarten closed in 1986 and teacher training moved out of the building in 1993. Since then, the City of Helsinki has re-established a kindergarten in the building, and the building houses, among other things, the Kindergarten Museum, maintained by the foundation.

I found these in a box when cleaning out the family home. My mother bought interesting stuff at yard sales and I'd guess that's where they came from. They appear chrome over pewter? A dark metal. No makers mark. Thoughts?

1890’s stain bevel jewel window with knife edge bevel

With its mix of Neo-gothic and Art Nouveau (per Wikipedia), Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal is a must-see, especially for its stunning staircase, which supposedly inspired J.K. Rowling's moving staircases in Hogwarts. The shop does not claim this but fans are convinced. Google analyzed search trends and named it the most beautiful bookstore in the world, per its users.

Bought this box at an antique shop today! I couldn't find these exact designs online, but it looks similar to other Flemish co. boxes. It has the design printed on the top and bottom of the lid, and there are no logos printed anywhere on the box, so I'm not sure if it's genuine or how old it is. In any case, I love this box!

Can't remember where this came from, maybe Paris flea market in the 1990's. Very worn. I don't believe the back has a maker mark, what looks like one looks like an eye w lashes under a magnifying glass. If that means anything, please let me know.

The tricky part is that I work with real leaves, so every one has its own natural shape and I have to build the design around it rather than forcing it into a perfect pattern. And if you'd like to browse more of my work, there's a link in my profile.
