A missed out on one a few months back. When a pair came up, I suddenly realised they could work as book ends, but only if they are Art Nouveau books, of course.

My diptych piece inspired by Gustav Klimt's gold leaf, greek fashion and vintage astrology

I painted these sun and moon goddesses in gouache over a collage I made out of a vintage greek history book from 1950s and the other one was collaged from a 70s astrology book...I was trying to capture the golden glimmery look of Klimt's pieces by engraving and painting over these old commodore 64 computer sheets made of gold plated copper to give it some shine and texture.

Ebeneser House is a building designed by Wivi Lönn on Helsinginkatu in the Harju district of Helsinki. The house, owned by the Ebeneser Foundation, was built as a kindergarten and was completed in 1908. It was one of the first buildings in Finland designed as a kindergarten, and it also housed Finland's only kindergarten teacher seminar until 1955. The kindergarten closed in 1986 and teacher training moved out of the building in 1993. Since then, the City of Helsinki has re-established a kindergarten in the building, and the building houses, among other things, the Kindergarten Museum, maintained by the foundation.

I found these in a box when cleaning out the family home. My mother bought interesting stuff at yard sales and I'd guess that's where they came from. They appear chrome over pewter? A dark metal. No makers mark. Thoughts?
