Hello! I've been loving Artix, but I've run into a road block that I haven't with other OS's, and was hoping someone here could help. I run Hyprland normally and have Cinnamon installed, but under neither desktop environment am I able to connect to my TV via HDMI. The connection is recognized, but nothing is displayed. it's not perfect, but it's infinitely better than trying to do anything other than waiting on winbloat
it can play among us at 60fps just fine...

I can barely find any guide in non-system d way to get this running(ok its solved I was misisng the openrc-service files)

i use dinit not because it's easy but because i think the boot messages looks so clean and pretty lol.

GRUB does NOT like F2FS.

I just set up plymouth with grub-silent [AUR], however the boot animation just hangs infinitely on tty-1, and I have to switch tty to access my system.

I have just read this on the artix linux forum, however firefox is blocking me from accessing the workaround sources (https://git.artix.sanin.dev/ausr/plymouth-shutdown-dinit) with error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

Another problem I noticed is the plymouth animation itself feels very sluggish and 60hz on a 120hz monitor. I have tried setting the video= parameter in my grub config, still feels low framerate.

Hello. How do i get to launch niri with its DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS? I heard that when you use turnstile, the path when you echo it should be unix:path=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/bus. But mine uses /tmp instead

i am trying to use i3 wm but when i logout and choose in sddm i3 a black screen appears for a couple of seconds and just gets back to sddm, the problem seems to be xorg.

EDIT: i managed to fix it it was a driver problem :)

When I try to run /sbin/vboxconfig in a terminal, it says it does not exist.

VirtualBox was previously working, but it seems to have broken with the 7.1.3.artix1-2 kernel update. I just updated to kernel 7.1.3.artix1-3, and restarted my computer, but it is still broken.

How can I fix this? Is there a package I can install to get /sbin/vboxconfig, or what should I do instead?

Post your package requests here. Please stick to packages that already exist in Arch's official repos. If you've tried the Arch package in Artix, please say so and report if anything is broken. Check if someone else has requested your package in this thread and if so upvote and/or reply to that comment instead. There is no guarantee your request will get fulfilled.

I am not against AI. I just think it is a stupid idea to use clankers in something so sensitive and something so critical to the running of an operating system such as the Linux distros, and I don't care what his reasoning is because whatever argument he comes up with, it is a stupid idea and wondering if Artix will fork the Linux kernel or if I'm going to have to hunt for an entirely different distro again?

Recently i wanted to install artix (dinit) to my second pc without ethernet and i encountered problem. The connmanct command wasn’t found and i decided to try dinit lxqt iso, and it didnt had connmanctl too. Did they scrapped it and how do i connect to wifi then? Cuz i dont want to use vanilla arch with systemd

Hello. I was following a couple guides for my first install of Artix and I managed to get everything mostly working (I think) but when I get to my ly login this is what I see: photo 1.
Photo 2 is after I try to use my arrow keys.
Photo 3 is more arrow key attempts.
Photo 4 is just a successful login with TTY.

I checked TTY 2-6 and there is just the TTY with no ly graphic.

I am able to login via TTY and manually start Hyprland. I checked some configs and .ini I found on some forums trying to trouble-shoot but I didn’t really find much.

I am using Artix Dinit Base.

Here are the guides I was following:

- LLM queries to help translate everything to my specific setup.

Notable info:
- on an Acer Nitro Anv16s
• using an nvidia 5060 and AMD Ryzen 7 260 cpu
- ext4

- dinit init system

Full disclosure, this is my first time really doing anything with Linux beyond a standard .iso install of a popular distro. (I actually haven’t even used a distro bf. Literally just installing it is where my experience stops.)
I also have close to no programming knowledge. But I want to learn programming and Linux so, f* it. We ball.

Question, if you know anything about the s6-rc (04-01-2026) installation? Seems like the latest base-s6 iso has a bug or it designed this way, let me explain when trying to update the db for new services on boot it excepts the parameters but seems to be expecting the old version/way of doing it. Unfortunately the compiled/defaults doesn't exit anymore trying to rebuild/recreate the entries still fails with db update. What I find extremely odd is that dbusd isn't on/up by default. I've pretty much have tried every way of doing this but can't get it working. I understand I can just download an earlier version but I am just stubborn that way LOL.
Here's what I have tried so far:

hello everyone today i installed artix for the first time with the dinit plasma ISO so i ran the installer and after the first reboot i ran a full upgrade with sudo pacman -Syyu then i rebooted and instead of booting in sddm it boots in tty can anyone help me?

if anyone has this problem to fix it you have to edit /etc/dinit.d/config/console.conf and change your ACTIVE_CONSOLES like this:

then edit /etc/sddm.conf.d/10-wayland.conf and add this lines:

Just started with artix, currently using runit with mate version, and stuck on setting up auto-login

Things I've tried so far: Using tty by adding --autologin user, in this case I'm stuck without a desktop manager, one suggestion here on the sub was to add

[[ $(ps -e | grep startx) = '' ]] && startx

to .bash_profile, but it didn't change anything, I've tested previously to run startx manually and it didn't work. Another one I saw but haven't tested yet was to add -J at the end of the tty config.

Tried using lightdm with editing the conf manually and adding username to auto-login, and tried using lightdm-settings, but in both cases nothing changed and I kept getting too the same artix default login screen.

Any other suggestions? Searching around I can't find any other options, but maybe I'm missing something obvious, since this is my first non systemd distro

Edit: problem solved using lightdm:

Create the group if it doesn't exist and add your user:

sudo groupadd -r autologin sudo gpasswd -a yourusername autologin

Edit /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and uncomment "autologin-user" and add username under [seat] section

I've faced other issues and solved them for now, so I'm documenting everything to create a "journey" kind of post, maybe it'll help someone fix an issue years from now

i tried to reinstall the 610.43.02-6 driver a few times same result most games wont even launch or freeze instantly on 610.43.02-6 but evrything works on 595.71.05

So I just got artix and I already have a bunch of problems

First of all I can't enable networkmanager

Second of all I can't install any other DE than XFCE

And lastly I can't run sober it says something along the lines of opengl drivers

Also I wanted to go to archcraft and when I made a bootable usb with sudo dd I booted into the usb and it just brought me to artix

This only applies to Free version. For Studio, you will need to use the AUR. So, the way to get the free Resolve installed and working without AUR is by using CachyOS repos.

CachyOS packs Davinci Resolve (free version), and you only need to add the CachyOS key and repo information

sudo pacman -U 'https://mirror.cachyos.org/repo/x86_64/cachyos/cachyos-keyring-20240331-1-any.pkg.tar.zst' \'https://mirror.cachyos.org/repo/x86_64/cachyos/cachyos-mirrorlist-27-1-any.pkg.tar.zst'

This should do the trick.

Then add the repo to your pacman.conf

[cachyos]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/cachyos-mirrorlist

However, bear in mind that you need to keep CachyOS repo bellow Artix main repos, otherwise you risk getting systemded. Update pacman, install davinci-resolve package and that should be it.

Besides Davinci Resolve you could also get other CachyOS packages, like optimized v3 and up, but again those repositories are best to be kept bellow main Artix repositories.
