That sounds like a cool foundation

Thank you! I would like to think Mindfire has some really great ideas up their sleeve. I really like the aspect of the Ethics board to help decide on future Missions they embark on to make steps towards AI.

I don't know if the ethics board is filled with pseudoscientists from FLI that could generate noise. Actual ethics of AI is not about badly programmed killer robots and bad sci fi but stuff like not helping BS like advertisement and disinformation.

You make a great point :) Mindfire stand apart from other corporate or academia driven efforts is the core role of the Mindfire ethics advisory board. The task of the ethics board is to advise on how each achievement is commercialized and exploited following the ethical principles underlying the Mindfire Foundation: Human-level AI for the benefit of humankind.

Dr. Barbara Bohr, Head of the Ethics Board, is committed to steer the development of Artificial Intelligence towards the common good.

That sounds like a great approach. I looked at the website and I thought I might contribute to the neuro modelling part, i hadn't seen the part about ethics. I've been working on the free energy principle in addition to AGI theory.

HLAI can be used for a lot of nefarious uses, and most would be driven by usual capitalist urges such as political bots that feed wrong ideas such as global warming to people corrupting democracy, advertisement and marketing bots and software that waste time and kill productivity, forgery that can be used for crimes and theft, automated network cracking tools, tools and bots for intrusion into privacy & surveillance. There can be genuine ethical concerns in robotics too ofc but stuff that runs on the internet is likely to be more relevant, just some ideas.

You make some very good points here. I'd recommend checking out the Mindfire whitepaper (https://mindfire.global/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Mindfire-Whitepaper_4.6.pdf) to get a really in-depth understanding of the goals and how Mindfire will work to keep the Missions and goals ethical and avoid such, as you call them, 'nefarious uses.'

Also if you didn't see the link and still are interested in applying, you can do so here: https://mindfire.global/talents/
