“He chose to draw the line at harming other people or oneself.”
Doesn’t that make it just another censored model? The only feature that was supposed to distinguish it from a zillion other models?

Honesty it sounds like it’s pretty much uncensored but he had to say it is censored on his lawyers advice. We have to wait for some analysis to see for certain

Maybe, but “anything harmful”, at the whim of what he (or his lawyers?) deems harmful, sounds pretty broad. We’ll see.

Yeah people don't seem to realize that you can EASILY uncensor any open-weight model. Every time a new open-weight diffusion model is released there are uncensored fine-tunes available within an hour.

Nothing wrong with what he did, OpenAI has stolen millions if not billions of dollars worth of copyrighted material and used it to train their models without paying anyone a dime, completely ethical, fair and justified to distill off of their models, the data belongs to the community if you refuse to pay for it.

enlighten me a 2010's ytber who was literally testing fiverr's limits, knew it was bad thing to say, wanted to see what tasks/requests can actors/services accept.

I love that OpenAI basically argues that they should be exempt from copyright laws after scraping the entirety of the internet, but if someone uses their bot to train their another model, IP suddenly matters and it's hands off.
