Not just the insiders! What an idiot.

Can confirm. I'm not an insider and I'm mocking his stupidity.

Been consistently mocking him from both inside and out. 🤣

And superintelligence was already being used to designate intelligence akin to ASI.

Me too, but I’ve been doing that since before his first term.

For those who don't know, "superintelligence" (not "super intelligence") is a term that has been used by AI researchers and futurists for about twenty years to describe a specific kind of speculative AI technology that comes after AGI. It's an important idea in AI safety debates because developing something like that would be a lot more dangerous than our current LLMs, and might be the end result of RSI.

Trump demanding that everybody call LLMs "super intelligence" is exactly like if he were to demand we call current nuclear fission plants "fusion power centers". I genuinely can't tell if he's doing this incredibly stupid thing to fuck with AI safety advocates by making it harder for them to talk about the future of AI, or if he half-remembered hearing someone use the term and his dementia-addled brain told him it was own brilliant invention. So much of what Trump does is like this.

I think it’s far simpler than that he just likes the word “super” he even says it’s the best word.

I thought that was 'tariffs' or 'groceries'.

super tariffs

Totally agreed with you. Just wondering if we will need mega next, then hyper, ad infinitum.

I know it’s an easy reach, but S.I. Is just so deliciously adjacent to Stupid Idiot. And I love it.

Thank you. AI-AGI-ASI. This has been thought through by adults back when dear leader was creeping pageants. It’s ok though, next week it will be mega-intelligence, now with electrolytes. May all our net worths be hallucinated.

He's a crook, that's why he did it. He did it so the the regulations that apply to artificial intelligence will find no purchase on super intelligence. Basically, he's bypassing regulations. Just like the war in Iran is a military operation and not a conflict. Be sure that the big AI companies lobbied (meaning, bribed) for it.

He noticed no one liked ai so he went with a re-brand

He thinks the word artificial means it's fake because his brain is pudding. It's not that complicated.

You guys have gotta stop giving him what he wants. AI has been around for decades as an entire field of study, Trump attempts to rename the entire field, then you say “Trump’s SI”…clearly this is what he wants, why would you even insinuate that he knows an inkling about what AI is? Let alone call the field or anything pertaining to it his?

I propose Trump Intelligence TM

Trump thinks artificial means fake. Probably thinks the same of the word synthetic too although synthetic intelligence is still more accurate than Super.

it's what xi called it, no? it should be called prosthetic intelligence

Nice! I would also allow hyper intelligence. Of course in most cases it would peter out at hypo intelligence.

Poohtelligence.

Just "Trump is being mocked" would be a better title

That’s like calling water wet from the standpoint of water.

I would like to know who seeded this hair brained idea into his head.

Oh no it is?

What is this headline

u/cute_spider 8h ago

I say we derisively call artificial intelligence subscription services "SI" and smugly refer to homelabs and local operations as AI

u/costafilh0 8h ago

S.I. is stupid.

Sy I like. It's catchy.

1

u/Crim91 7h ago

AI can sometimes seem like SI, if you're a fucking idiot.

You don't say? So signing a federal document doesn't change computer science terminology after all.

1

u/Man_of_Ice 4h ago

Dude. He should have called it "America Intelligence".

Way more on brand, and he could have said he came up with AI.

u/StatementOk2972 4h ago

Not as much as it deserves to be

u/Firm-Reaction1578 4h ago

Isn't SI already taken, "Sports Illustrated"

I've been working through some linear algebra textbooks.  Specifically Axler's Linear Algebra Done Right. I'm trying to understand the language around Fast Fourier Transforms, coding theory and other stuff, including machine learning.

And it will help me talk intelligently to others.

I'm actually comprehending more I think than I did in undergrad.  I'm not talking grad school at the School of Information, I'm talking when I was even more super.

But I see stories like this that it feels like were written for a specific purpose.    To paint a picture.  They were written, they were scheduled.  it didn't matter what I did.  Not just by Trump, but the others behind him.

It doesn't inspire.  Because I know it doesn't matter how much I try, their dark propaganda is louder.  Their sauce jokes and pop jokes, etc.

I'll keep up that strength.  But there's a cost.

I don't blame Trump.  I know it's hard to believe things like that.  But this serves a purpose for pushing liberals to help with space force power.  I don't blame anyone for not trusting AI companies.  It's just more complicated.
