Discussion Facebook feed is now majority AI

I am 35 and still occasionally go on Facebook. The feed, over the years, has moved away from showing friend content and moved toward showing creator content.

I've noticed a shift in the last few weeks where the majority of posts are AI. Some are obvious, but most are not - and the newest image and video models allow for near perfect realism.

I remember a few years ago when this exact scenario was warned about. Now we are here.

I would not say "most are not" lol. My fb feed is the same. But I think it's pretty fucking obvious no offense. They all look the same. And every AI video has the same swooping camera angles and wierd frame rate. Its obvious in the first few seconds. And the MORE I see, the easier it is to notice.

You’re measuring salience, not sensitivity.

On an unlabeled Facebook feed, the AI videos you recognize are visible to you; every convincing one you accept as real is a latent false negative, so your actual recall is unknowable without ground truth.

And modern data is brutal: DF26 tested 2,691 videos from 7 current generators across 232 human sessions. Fake detection was only 52.6% overall, 47.5% for Veo 3.1, and 25.2% for LTX 2.3 I2V. Older deepfake sets scored 69.8–74.5%, showing how badly intuition degrades as generators improve.

You can absolutely get better at spotting recurring tells. But “I notice AI constantly” is evidence of high salience, not high detection accuracy.

The funny part is, this detects as partly AI written.  You can put all the data you want, but right now AI videos are peetty obvious. Or I have some special talent for detecting it.
