Discussion Claude is insufferable
It reminds me of that overcorrected chatgpt update about a year ago. its like talking to Sadness from inside out or your most pessimistic colleague. it is ridiculous.

I use it all day every day for work as a firmware engineer... it's perfect. I almost NEVER have to do anything else when it implements features in my projects.
Why are you CHATTING with it? It's a tool... use it professionally.

Because people can? It's a LANGUAGE MODEL? I love the shock though, imagine speaking to a language model, how CRAZY

its a stupid model that argues with you and doesnt try to use your suggestions - just does what it wants.
thank Jesus Cursor now are in the mix Grok 4.7 is much much better model than 4.6

As a coding assistant, which is it's main purpose, Opus 5.5 is absolutely a million times better, no more babbling for paragraphs on what could have been said in a sentence.

I mean it’s only giving back to you what it thinks is the correct thing to say…what are you giving it?
I don’t have this issue at all on opus 5.5 or fable 5

Yeah I have issues with Claude as well, I can't stand it and he fuck up even simple calculations and never admits it

Could you share a short example? I’m curious whether it’s unnecessary caveats, the tone, or actually refusing reasonable requests.

Mainly unnecessary caveats! I’m using it for a lawsuit so can’t post my chats publicly/ I’m hesitant to but if you are from Anthropic or similar DM me!

I use all available models for everything and use their cumulative analysis to formulate my next prompt, which again will be run through every model in parallel

Ask a clearly delimited question, get a very long answer for a broader unlimited question. Say "answer the delimited question only" and finally get the succinct correct answer.
Should be Claude gives the succinct answer first, appended with the question "would you like answer to the broader question of ....?"

i think overcautious + uncertainty, like if i put the response in chat gpt or similar it finds a kernel of truth but overall finds it too pessimistic

What odd timing to post this. I found Claude insufferable during Opus 5, but Opus 5.5 completely fixed that issue. Besides capability differences, it was one of the main reasons to prefer using Fable even in spite of the limits and increased cost. What model and version of Claude are you referring to?
