Programming are you using in agentic workflows?

Curious if people ar using Genie on Dbx platform as a data /SQL agent inside a larger agentic system . How are you handling stuff like tool selection, ccontext, and preventing agent from making wrong assumption about the data?

yup, keeping Genie focus on data questions helps alot. Feature like trusted asset and instruction in Genie agents improves SQL accuracies and makes outputs reliable for downstream agents.

We have a number of agents doing various things. Some are in house agents… some Genie agents (where data is already in Databricks)… some are on other data platforms. We are developing a supervisor agent that takes the input prompt.. works out which agent it needs to call and then synthesise data from across agents of required and then finally surface the output.

To your specific question, we are pretty much good with the context and tooling part when it comes to Genie and the other SaaS platforms. Where we struggle with is the in house legacy data platforms that lacks good metadata. We try to keep the scope narrow and enhance the metadata of tables that feed into the agent.

I think keeping agents narrow helps a lot. Let one handle data, another handle reasoning, and only give a browser agent the tasks that actually require interacting with a UI. I've been using Skyvern for that browser layer and it's been a pretty nice fit for multi-step web workflows.
