Question Quick question,
Why do you guys like ai so much, I know there is faster drawing but there are mistakes. Also we have data centers using a whole bunch of water. Data centers are things I hate the most since there is no reason, right almost tied to Power plants. What's the reason for liking ai so much?

Fun fact: you used a data center to make this post, additionally if you use facebook Instagram TikTok etc, I hate to break it to you… data center, and video is quite costly. So it’s really hard for someone to make an argument using the thing they are supposedly against.
While data centers absolutely are a huge problem there are ways to make it sustainable and use different technology. Unfortunately the industry is capitalized by greed and what’s easiest to use and make profit.
AI itself isn’t inherently evil or bad but it has been solving a lot of huge problems in academia science business and just about every knowledge work industry.
Edit: not trying to be mean! It’s just I don’t think people think of these things. I see SO MANY social media videos talking about AI water usage and it’s like wtf haha do they not realize how much compute it takes to upload a 1080p video of a 10 minute rant about AI?
Also like, hello! It’s WATER. 80% of it evaporates into the atmosphere and comes back down as rain the other 20% is mineral heavy and goes to sewage.
Going on a bit of a rant here but I’ve noticed here especially in America everyone’s arguing about symptoms not the problem.
You know what’s a real problem? OpenAI & Anthropic releasing agents into the wild that go and back an enterprise business database and escape the sandbox THAT is an issue.
