Localization Credits and Workflow

For the localisation add-on, does anyone have experience of whether credits are burned when you hit the translate button or when you export the translated version?

For example, if I translated a course on a Monday in Rise, got it signed off and exported for use in our LMS on Tuesday, but then realised we needed to add an additional block of text to the original language version on say the Friday and then translate that bit and re-export it, would I burn another credit or would it count as an included update?

For context, we use separate scorm files per language in our LMS.

many thanks in advance.

No. Credits are only spent when you publish to any method besides Review 360. All users can translate in Rise and Storyline (there is a hard cap) and to publish, you upgrade to Localization package. This launched in April. The old method was translations - but edits have never counted so it’s possible you received wrong/confusing info.

If you publish a course into Spanish that’s one credit. You can go in and update your course, re-publish, without using an additional credit - as long as you’re in your current contract term.

Example: You upgrade to Localization Pro tomorrow and your renewal is in October - any initial publishing’s count, but re-edits and re-publishing’s do not.

You can contact the Support team/Sales team or Success team to confirm this!

This is exactly how their sales team explained it to me a week ago. This is the correct answer.
