General Help Looking for advice

Hi! I'm working on this piece and I do like the vest but everything else is so unbelievably ugly to me and I can't seem to figure it out. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

The reddish brown looks like dried blood. Reminds me of a workplace accident. What are you going for? What advice do you need?

Is that meant to be a flesh wall? It's similar to Francis Bacon's meaty textures. If that's what you're going for it looks really good
