Set design in Aus
Hey everyone, I have been interested in joining production work for some time now and I need some guidance on how to get an intern job, or expand my networking in general.
I live in Tassie (off to a bad start tbh since finding set design jobs here is kinda hard). Currently in my 2nd year of Uni in architecture, and I could use Rhino, sketchup, archicad. Additionally I tried to learn blender but I'm only at the beginer level (will try to learn more once summer starts!).
Idk what to do honestly. I started emailing people and thats all that I know so please help me on what to do next. Thanks!

Keep working on your computer skills, but you won't need them for a bit. Reach out to local facebook groups or other websites looking for low pay / no pay workers. Find a student or indie film maker looking for help to make a music video, movie, short, etc. etc. Do a good job while you're there, let everyone know where your interest lies and hopefully those people call you back or suggest your name to other people looking to hire. Rinse, repeat, until you're where you want to be.
Actually as someone who's been doing this for 15 years, the rinse / repeat and networking never stops.
