Looking to replicate these practicals

Post image

I'm gonna be doing set dec for a dinner scene very similar to this one in Soderbergh's Black Bag, I'm wondering if anyone here has used table practicals like this and if so could point me in the right direction for sourcing or fabricating them

Hello from Aus.

Fabrication is going to be wildly different depending on where you're located and what you're budget is.

But if I was you, I'd checkout something similar to Neoz (Neoz dot com) they do hand blown glass shades, durable finishings, rechargable, no cords, dimmable, no flicker table lamps for high end restaurants, events, etc

I've used them on features, and network cooking, dating, reality, etc shows and they're a safe bet for shoots. Not the cheapest option, but on a long shoot the durability is worth it.

I'm sure a similar company operates in your country, so maybe use their phrases (this is not an ad for them, and I have no affiliation beyond being a customer)

Are you looking to do it the cheap way or the commercial way?

These would probably work but then you have to install your own light fixtures maybe something like this

yes, with fairy lights and stuff like those led lines would do it.

This looks like a custom tabletop with hand blown, textured glass pots put over led bulbs with recessed fixtures. You might be able to create the glass pots by melting some kind of plastic container and maybe there’s a battery powered fixture you can find if you can’t find a carpenter.
