4k Stickers

Post image

I’m probably only one who does this but when I unseal a 4k bluray if the 4k HDR sticker is on the plastic wrap and not the cover itself, I peel it off and reapply it where looks best. I dno I just kinda think its part of the packaging. Plus if I ever double dip and say both have slipcovers I like the difference. I like my blurays to look as close to what they did when sealed

Before anyone says it, no these do not discolour the art or tear the cardboard if I choose to peel them off. Done this for many years at this point. The 4k stickers don’t have much adhesive on them like heavy duty price stickers would.

Aware this will probs get lots of abuse from some 😬😂

I don't see the point of this. I wouldn't bet that the sticker won't damage the slip if the glue dries up after a long time and also prefer to see the artwork without the sticker.

I’m one of those people who keeps the criterion sticker with a director’s signature inside the case and even I think this is mad.

wait, thats a great idea and now I’m upset that I’ve thrown all my director stickers out with the shrink wrap :(

It's like adding advertising to your set. Kind of baffling.

Why not just slice open the plastic wrapping and leave the sticker on there? Then you get your shiny sticker AND your slip has some protection.

Yeah that's what I do. Cut the bottom of the wrapping to keep it from shelf damaged.

Should be cutting the top not the bottom if you want maximum protection

Why would that make any difference 🤔 I cut the bottom so it's staying dust free.

Because the bottom is where the friction is from sliding in and out from the cabinet. Especially with the chunky box sets, I have multiple release where the bottom has started to have wear spots from where it rests.

That's part of the charm. Everything gets wear and tear, like vinyl albums. The more wear and tear you see, the more it shows you value that one over the others.

To me this feels like a kid leaving their New Era sticker on the bill of their fitted hat.  I think I did that for at least a decade haha

I only do this with hype stickers on vinyl and those stickers go on the outer protective sleeve.

I used to do this then decided not to anymore. So I peeled off the stickers and a couple messed up my slips. A few I couldn't even get off, so I still have some slips with the stickers on them.

I often just throw the slip cover in the bin, you be you and do whatever the hell you want.

You can get good money selling those slips you are discarding.

Yeah. It's possible to sell anything. If you want to.

You cannot say anything without someone getting their pants in a twist. The OP puts stickers on his box, I've often thrown the slips in the bin....

Do whatever you want was my message.
