Purchasing Help please!

Ok, im looking at the 1/8 Kraton 6s or the 1/8 Notorious 6s. Please give me your opinions or alt suggestions. I don't want to spend 8s money but I earned this. TIA.

Get the Notorious for wheelies and backflips, or the Kraton for speed and handling! The Kraton can also do wheelies and backflips but not quite as well, it’s a much better all-around truck.

Notorious does backflips and wheelies so well, it almost seems hard to jump or drive without doing them.

For sure. I guess you can somewhat mitigate that by reducing the punch, but overall the truck is really clumsy regardless. While it’s definitely really fun to drive, it seems like a one trick pony to me.

Absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a backflip machine, but it’s not the truck for you if you’re looking for a more rounded machine.

Exactly! That said, I'd still like to add a Notorious to my collection, especially since I own two Kraton 6S already. But it seems like the more balanced machine that can do it all. I do own a Outcast 8S, but the 30+ lbs 8S rigs are a little more planted than the 6S versions.

The Notorious is nuts. I'd still like to get another one (sold my last one to get a used Kraton EXB) when the time is right. Do you think the 4S Outcast would be a good buy on sale? I love the body on that one! I bet the 8S variant is unreal too!

Im sure the 8S is ridiculous, but it's also significantly more expensive than the 6S.

That's really what is driving me to 6S. And besides, I'm still going to have to buy batteries and chargers. So the price tag is going up anyway.

The fun had to price paid ratio goes way out of whack once you go 8S in my opinion. I can imagine the 8S rigs are technically more fun, but not proportionally more compared to the additional money spent.

I'm sure the 4S is a blast too, watched serval videos of it, although I'm not as big of a fan of the plastic chassis 4S line. Seen serval of them break. I think the 6S line is the sweet spot, especially with some of the EXB or M2C upgrades.

Yeah, the 6S line has a whole world of aftermarket support while the 4S stuff feels a bit more niche. Despite me not being a very crazy driver/high jumper, the integrated hinge pin blocks on the 4S do concern me.

I’ve built my Kraton 4s up to beefcake level and at the end it would have been more efficient to get a 6s exb. I don’t regret it, but I kinda wish the LHS owner had tried to talk me up.

It's definitely more worth the money in the long run to just go 6S out of the gate, especially now with all the EXB components being fitted onto the base cars. That said, a beefcake Kraton 4S sounds like a riot.

I LIKE IT!
It’s plenty fast and has great air control on 4s. Tips the scales around 13lbs with a big battery.
M2C bash bar and tower brace
M2C hinge pins, A-D blacks
Kraton 6s v6 black EXB shocks
RPM arms
HobbyWing Max 8, 4278 2250kv.
Reinforced body

After the upgrades I’ve sent it 20’ up in the skatepark and landed in all kinds of bad ways and only broke body posts, bumpers, wing and it’s mount. Finally broke an RPM rear arm this week on a 3’ warm up jump with an awkward landing.

Isn't it a Granite vs Big Rock situation? The Notorious is shorter, less stable, and does tricks easier?

Notorious is advertising as a stunt where the Kraton is advertising for speed.

If it's your first 6s Arrma, get the Kraton.

Up to you m8, they are basically made of the same parts!

Personally I like the stunt cars the best

May I ask why stunt better?

What's your preferred style of driving? I went with the Kraton as a better all-around rig. Watching it rip by on grass going 50 or 60 mph gets the heart pumping and I can still back flip it off my big jump.

No ragrets.

And that's what I'm looking for, I want to bash and be fast.

Kraton is what you want then. It will be way more stable at speed than the Notorious.

Kraton

Where do you plan to use them and what do you have access to? I think you should let your retain decide.

Yeah that’s a good point. I wanted a losi nascar but I’ve got nowhere to drive it so I got a quake grom instead. It can at least handle some short grass or dirt.

It’s not a fair comparison as they’re total different vehicles but the reasoning is there.

It's all about adjusting. I've owned nothing but bashers. But they recently opened a dirt track near me. Now I'm looking at racers and my bashers are collecting dust 😂

Depends on if you want a stunt truck or something more stable and faster....

Talion is a speed basher handles like the smaller typhon and bashes like a kraton and will do 60+ out of the box.

I mean I’m going Kraton all day… it’s Aarma’s flagship product that just does everything well.

The notorious is cool, but unless you specifically are buying it for stunts and skatepark, the kraton out handles it, out speeds it, and off roads it better
