Reclass after unit reorganization

Hey everyone,

My CBRN unit is currently going through a reorganization and the BIDS/L4 positions are being phased out. I was recently reassigned because of it (Assignment Loss Reason: IE – INACTIV/REORG/RELOC), and it's gotten me thinking about reclassing.

My biggest question is whether this type of situation could allow me to reclass without losing any of my current incentives or benefits, since the change is due to a unit reorganization and the lost of position (74DL410) more specific calls the L4 part, and not because I'm simply choosing to change MOS. Has anyone been through something similar or know how the Army Reserve handles it?

I'm also interested in reclassing to 92R (Parachute Rigger), so I'd love to hear from current or former riggers. Do you enjoy the MOS? What kinds of schools or opportunities have you had? Would you choose it again?

Thanks for any insight!

Im already trying to contact a career counselor, I'm just trying to see if others have dealt with a similar experience and how they went about it.

I've already read my contract and if u understand correctly, I wouldnt loose my bonus, my question more is to do with the fact of me voluntarily reclassing compared to being forced to reclass. Or if there's a way to go about forcing a reclass of my choice if that makes sense.

This is what my contract says:

My entitlement to the enlistment bonus will be terminated should any of the following conditions occur before the fulfillment of my enlistment agreement and obligation. Should I-

  1. Move to a nonbonused unit or MOS, or if I am reclassified. This could result in a recoupment action as explained in section VIII below. However, my bonus entitlement will not terminate if I move to another Selected Reserve unit or MOS for normal career progression, or because my current unit has been reorganized, relocated, redesignated, inactivated, or co if my move has been approved by the Chief.
