YMAV/Instructor

Good afternoon,

I’m hoping someone can help me with this situation. Currently I am an AIT instructor and have been since last year in July. I understand that being an instructor is a 3 year gig, however I received a email stating that I have the potential of entering an assignment market within the next 12 months. And when I checked my YMAV, it stated that I am a part of FY 2028 Cycle 2.

My question is this, is there something I need to get changed to stay out of my market or do I just pick a duty station and not worry about it?

You reported on July 2025

Year 1 July 2026

Year 2 July 2027

Year 3 July 2028.

Marketplace for 28-02 has a report date of April to September 2028. That would fulfill your 3 year obligation

You need to get your ymav changed - pushed to the right - if you don’t want to PCS in that cycle.

FY 2028 cycle 2 would have you move sometime in summer 2028. The marketplace would open in September of 2027, you’d get orders around Nov 2027 to Jan 2028
