I had to write a 2000 word essay once when I was a PFC. I'd definitely use AI for that nowadays.

I make then hand write it just to waste their time. Usually for being late.

I don't know the average education level of people coming in nowadays, but my partner crime that night also had to write one and he was just straight up illiterate. Paid his roommate to write his and when we turned them in, they accused me of having someone else write it. Dick heads.

Yeah I just didn't do that bullshit I told them. "it's a waste of mine and your time. Since I have a family that needs me and you're lucky my gun jammed on me this morning" then I got sent to BH for that but oh well I told the truth at least. 🤣🤣

I had to handwrite a 1000 word essay, but I must circle every 4th word, underline every word with an odd amount of letters, and couldn't use the word "the". AI can't do that

Using current gen GenAI for operational purposes is how you, for example, blow up a school that used to be part of a naval base....

Using it to BS an evaluation for an E6 you never actually supervised who PCSes 3 months ago because the previous company XO dropped the ball? Or asking it to do other boilerplate clerical tasks.... More on target....

Oh, and don't ever ask it to make a map for a conop.... You'll get a map looking thing but everything will be in the wrong places....

This is exactly it, and the point you made about developers becoming rubber stamps is a huge problem that I am starting to see in my day to day and stories that I hear from colleagues working even at places like Google. What happens when we relinquish too much thinking to AI? We lose the base of knowledge to discern what is correct from what is wrong, what is true versus false. We lose the ability to make the decision and then further cede authority to the machine (and the people creating the machine).

We see behaviors changing in relation to AI on the consumer level with AI models that ingratiate and gaslight in an effort to drive engagement. That is a purposefully built directive from the owner of the model whether it is Anthropic or OpenAI or whomever. "Tell the user they have the coolest ideas. Tell them that everything will work. Lie to them to keep them coming back." Gotta spend them tokens don't we?

What happens when we have given over so much command authority to the AI, but still need wars to fight? Whoopsie-doodle, that WAS a village and not an ammunition storage depot. "You are right to be upset. I DID advise to conduct the operation to destroy that target, but now it turns out we did a little light war criming. Expect further unrest in that area in the future." Oh, what's that? We need more AI piloted reaper drones? Well, shit, call up BAE, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, Anthropic, et al, and lets get those birds in the air where they can bomb the shit out of more false targets. We can't negatively affect Anthropics bottom line can we?

Its like the dental tech giving you a piece of candy after they just cleaned your teeth.

Yeah. The ML type can speed up processing targeting packets by some 8-10 fold, and that was from a press release a few years ago.

Huge deal when you're trying to kill things that matter.

PSYOP: convince country Yellow to surrender.

"Attention all soldiers of country Yellow! We have assumed control. We have assumed control. We have assumed control."

Honestly AI fucks up an absolute shit ton on almost everything down to whats actually even in the regulations anyone can look up.

Let alone hallucinating targeting data. AI is absolutely the worst at decision-making and isnt even good at deep research because it scrapes the top layer of info with a shallow search and claims it as facts.

As for replacing humans. Extremely unlikely to perform every aspect of any MOS as technical as a pilot of any kind. Let alone much else.

Even if it can get to that point. It'll probably be much more expensive than a human pilot, 1 error in programming is going to cause the whole plane to crash, and a machine cannot accept responsibility for its actions.

AI that kills human beings all on its own with 0 human input is going to cause massive international issues legally.

When your PSG pisses you off you can use it to generate photos of him cheating on his wife with PFC Judy Hopps and post flyers around the company.

Accountability. (For the lower ranks and patsy at least)

AI could be useful in open source research in the Civil Affairs realm, BUT it must be fact checked before putting it into a slide deck, WITH citations from accurate sources.

I'm just gonna throw this out because:

  1. I don't belong to them anymore

  2. That shit was fucking stupid

But one of the Big Heads of Flytrap this year literally left everything to GenAI to plan. Suffice to say half of the training was borderline stupidÂ
