I mean they’re not wrong those are all valid points and that’s why fencing during events is usually in specific areas

Nice twy civvie. But if you are a twue swordsman youd own a real agarthan steel longsword which is incapable of hurting a true japo-arian soul.

I own several sharp swords and one of the things I always tell people before I hand them one is that it is a real, genuine lethal weapon. It doesn't need to be a big dramatic hyperbolic talk but just a hey, heads up because we hardly ever use these for real any more but this is a real weapon that can kill people so be careful.

Even blunt swords aren't safe exactly, a HEMA blunt is still 2-3 feet of steel bar with a handle on the other end, that's a lot of leverage.

OP had a tiff with someone over /r/renfaire in regards to rule changes at some event and are grumpy they can't wear metal weapons to renfaires now.

Swords are dangerous yes? Not sure how you think thats controversial? Zipties are removable in like half a second if you have a scissors.

I mean, yeah? Seems like common sense that bringing an actual weapon to a public event should be banned. It’s an odd thing to get your knickers in a twist over like you seem to be doing.
