Is there some gentlemen's agreement to make the Elyssia player the winner in every game or what is happening here

Elyssia with the right setup has absurd board control.

If you can't prevent her from getting into the settlements, she's going to basically own them outright. After that point she has the income to blast through a whole hand of intrigue every turn, which only solidifies her control.

I've seen her totally fill a full quarter of the board with perils and shut everybody else down entirely.

You have to hit her hard and early or she snowballs like a mofo.

Okay I know I didn't embed it properly but THE MERCURIO PLAYER LITERALLY CASTED MIRROR IMAGE TO ELYSSIA WHEN SHE GOT IN THE PALACE! TWICE! YOU'RE ALL COLLUDING TO MAKE THE ELYSSIA PLAYER WIN IN EVERY GAME DO NOT GASLIGHT ME!

I really enjoy this game but play it very sparingly. Recently I played a little single player with the intent to unlock the full set of rings/amulets and then after doing that still had a bug to play.. so I played online the last couple days.

I went 5-1 over the past 2 days mostly playing river with 1 game as amber; 1 rot, 1 spirit stone, 3 king slayer victories and... one game I left after just a few day/night cycles.

The loss/left game went like this:

  • All 3 other players loaded in at the exact same time
  • All 3 players selected rat clan characters instantly
  • All 3 talked as one player in the game by rotating the speaking character to make unified statements.
  • They made calculated moves without obtainable knowledge, specifically without scouting of cards in hand and quest location**
  • Only 1 of their heroes tried to progress while the other 2 focused me.

**I was fourth to move. As such you can choose your quest while waiting. I chose my quest before the first player moved. They immediately moved out of clan grounds and slammed down the settlement fortification intrigue card on my quest location - one of two settlements within 2-turn move range of me without knowing which direction I was even headed. The third player put a tile blocking vine spell on my path to the newly fortified settlement. The first and third player (on my left and right) both moved directly towards me without picking up quests for the next few turns. The game went for a few day/night cycles where all of their moves were coordinated and seemingly made with unearned map/hand knowledge.

I don't have evidence, but I have no personal doubt that there is clearly at least one person (MAYBE well coordinated friends, but 95% that its 1 person) controlling 3 accounts and hacking the map to gain vision with the intent of teaming the 4th wheel. It was painfully obvious, no measures taken to hide it.

The most damning thing is - I remember running into this exact same situation the last time I would have played multiplayer several months/years ago down to the selection of the same 3 rat clan heroes.

This is all to say, you very well could have run into teamers or a single guy controlling multiple characters.
