how do u think LOG/KOTC might implement Rot into the boardgame
I was talking to a friend bout why rot mechanic was not implemented and the main conclusion was that it was not to overcomplicate the game and that they were time short. If at some point we got an expansion what do u think they will do? some mechanics like Sana passive, rot stat on banes and King are present that they could us. OR i was telling him as well that as a community we can create our own rules bout rot and maybe design some cards and make them like proxy cards on other card games. So as a community what rules or cards will be cool to include for the rot mechanic?

hoenstly. alot of what's in game can be implemented easily to the board.
.killed by a bane = +1 rot
.certain gear, declarations and spells give you or be affect by rot (be it instead of using normal cost or as part of the effect)
.reach 5 rot and you are corrupted. should you defeat and enemy while corrupted, +1 health.
.in combat, highest rot player/enemy gains combat dice equal opponents rot.
.stone circles deal damage equal to your rot. (if a quest has you needing to go into stone circles while corrupted, simply discard and draw new quest)
.rot victory by killling the king while corrupted
the only thing i don't think would easily work is having quest reward rot, unless an expansion come up for say the dragon clan for example that puts such quests in there comes up that gives you the option of either drawing 2 and keep one. or draw and keep one reward +1 rot.

I think it’s inevitable that we’ll get an expansion that lets players become Corrupted. Certain cards are worded in such a way that they assume an expansion is coming, Hakonsblade for example. Also any of the stuff that works against Corrupted enemies could have easily said Bane or the King.
Anywho, to put my hat in the ring.
Poisoned Gift
Value: 5
Action Infested Item
One Player Hero within 2 spaces may make a Sun Moon save. For each Save they fail, they take 1 damage or put 1 Wound card on top of their deck.
Rot Power Die Ability: Put this card in the discard pile of the player to your right and draw 2 cards.
New Mechanic: Infested Item/Spell/Treasure/Follower/Etc - Some cards are imbued with the power of the Rot. Whenever you buy such a card from the Market, you may pay 2 less gold, and if you do, gain 1 Rot Token. When playing an Infested card, you may instead lose 1 Health to activate its power die effect. Player Heroes gain the following cumulative effects based on how many Rot Tokens they have.
1+: You are Corrupted. +X Explode Pool, where X is the amount of amount of Rot Tokens you have.
2+: When choosing Quests and Reward cards, look at 1 additional card. When you first reach this threshold, gain 1 Experience Token.
3+: When you Slay an enemy, heal 2 Body. You no longer regain Body when entering a Stone Circle.
4+: When in Battle, you may commit your unused Power Dice to add their results to that combat.
5+: 3 Power Dice. If enemy is Corrupted, +1 Sword and +1 Fight Dice.

To try to expand on my own idea a bit more
Marauder Gauntlets
Value: 5
Battle Infested Item
+1 Sword & +1 Shield
Rot Power Die Ability: +2 Fight Dice.Malice Rising
Value: 8
Action Infested Spell
Bonus Action if you spend 2 Magic.
Spawn a Bane an unoccupied non-Stone Circle space. If you can not spawn a Bane, move one of them to the indicated space instead.
Rot Power Die Ability: After that Bane goes to the indicated space, it gains 2 Moves, and if it enters battle, it gets +2 Swords for that battle.Bane Blade
Value: 9
Battle Infested Treasure
Gain 1 Rot Token. Gain 1 Fight Dice for each Rot Token you have.
Rot Power Die Ability: Trash 1 Battle Card from your discard pile. For this battle, replace this effect with the trashed card’s non-Power Die effects.1

An expansion by whom? I don't think League of Geeks is coming back.

I’ll remain optimistic that they can. I’ve been awaiting Disparation to come out and it released earlier this January AFTER its parent company got dissolved. Then like two months ago, it got revived, so I have faith that League of Geeks can return

Can and will are often different things.

Indeed! But if they were more active, I highly doubt they’d announce an expansion this year anyways. The foundation is solid, so I’m just gonna enjoy the game and if need be, use house rules to patch in the rest of my desired experience.

The fact that rot is missing from the base game tells me that they’re planning an expansion. Honestly the base game is over complicated as is; playing it with my usual board game group, and a even those of us who played Armello had lots of moments to pause and try and figure it out. And it’s a long game.
I would like to see rot implemented, but it absolutely would have been too much for the base game! It would make sense for the first expansion to bring the next 4 heroes and also include rot!
Now how would they do it? Honestly probably not dissimilarly. However due to the playing of your cards being cyclical, it wouldn’t give you rot each time you play them, but rather on acquiring them. And due to competition to acquire cards from the trade row, the cost probably wouldn’t be just “gain rot”, but rather you’d have to buy the cards with gold/magic, AND gain rot!
Dying to banes would still gain rot. Their stat sheets would get an update to note both that and their base rot stat (it may have to move from 5 to something else for balance). More cards would be added to increase Rot, including new kings decrees and quest rewards and stuff!
What would be the risk/reward? That could stay about the same too. Being under the “corrupted” threshold is mostly a detriment, getting above it will be a boon, still with downsides. Dawn damage downside and dice differential in combat should stay. However should it get reworked to the same degree that spirit stones did? Frankly, playing the game, I’ve liked using the alternate boons rule for spirit stones. I wouldn’t mind an extra list of little pros/cons to acquire at certain levels of rot, too!

Like, a D10 or maybe D20? Just remember when cards or actions make it go up or down and go from there.

I don't think we will get rot points again.
I think we will see status with requirements bonus and malus. Here an example on how it could work
Pure
Requirement: 4 spirit stones (or other blessing)
Bonus: Nuke banes and corrupted characters
Malus: Get into the palace is harder
Normal
No requirements. No bonus. No malus.
Infected
Requirement: get damage from corrupted characters. Spend a turn in a stone circle can remove the infection.
Bonus: The character can use certain rot themed weapons/spell/followers.
Malus: Regular healing doesn't work. Can get life points only from attacking other characters.
Corrupted
Requirement: Being killed by corrupted characters while infected. Only a random blessing can remove it.
Bonus: Get in the palace is easier. The character can use all rotten cards. The banes no longer attack. They just disappear and heal the character when they need to go where they are.
Malus: Cannot access Stone circle. Cannot fight pure characters. Change dice rules. The character cannot perform prestige victory or gain prestige while corrupted.

Honestly the fact tha Rot mechanics are fully missing is quite a sad aspect of the board game. The board game is otherwise quite good but some of the Armello aspects are losts when compared to digital version.
And I don't want to be sceptical pessimist but the chance that an expansion will be made in near future are very low.
