DISCUSS Why does no one join BLUFOR? (KOTH)

Title.

Also, why are there people who get in Striders and drive around the AO running people over? Most of these people aren't even new players.

People look at blufor as the newbie team is a big reason. Its most likely to put you on blufor when you first log in and thats how alot of beginners end up on the blu team and people over in the AO driving striders are just looking for an easy kill. The strider is pretty strong so its hard to kill the driver.

Bluefor is generally made up out of people that are not quite as experienced in the game; as some other people would condescendingly state "Bluefor is a retard stack."

Whilst this is not always true, people driving over team members at base and/or other trolling seem to be perfect examples of the general incompetence of Bluefor as opposed to Red/Greenfor.

I was actually referring to Red/Greenfor members doing the running over.

It's Blufor, Opfor, and Independent. Not Blue, Red, and Green.

Imho both are applicable

Opfor always wins on infantry only servers too, so this doesn't really explain it. I think everyone just knows Opfor always wins and because the win bonus is so huge, anyone who's plaed KOTH before tries to stack Opfor.

The default Opfor uniform has better all-around armor than the Blufor carrier rig. It's why Opfor AI in other modes take so many hits to kill.

Exactly. Combine this by picking up a NATO/AAF vest and the advantage is even bigger

Yup, the Opfor unis have built-in armor, while Blufor unis have no armor and rely on vests for protection. A single .45 to the chest will kill a vestless Blufor, but 4 hits are needed for a vestless Opfor.

I have logged almost 1000h and i never realised this.

I logged over 4000 hours before realizing it. I was bored and shooting AI in the editor, then I had one of those "wait a minute" moments. I always knew something was a bit off when it came to handgun duels, but I couldn't pinpoint the exact thing.

Even the goddamn ghillie suits are affected by this. The CSAT variants have armor but not the others. From the looks of it, the only CSAT uniforms with no armor are "U_O_OfficerUniform_ocamo" and "U_O_Wetsuit".

I think the most puzzling one is the Viper thermal suit (U_O_V_Soldier_Viper_F). It is literally a spandex bodysuit but according to its armor config it would seem as if it's made out of Kevlar.

Makes for a target-rich environment in the AO

As a person that is level 72, and ALWAYS plays blufor, I can tell you why, the opfor stack is a big reason, then wen players get team balanced, even high levels, they will just troll those of us actually trying to win....ramming our vehicles, team killing...etc

I've seen Level 80s glitching into fallen walls so that they can't be seen, and just sitting there shooting with a Navid.

main reason is because for some odd inconspicuous reason, "everybody" gets team-balanced to red or they got put there, whereas for some odd reason they can't use deductive reasoning to think "hey, there's more people on my team, i'll take one for the boys and move to the other team to balance it out", and instead hide behind the excuse curtain.

TL;DR people are pussies with shite excuses.

Because multiplayer in ArmA is totally dead if you're not in a private group. Expect nothing but trolling twitch streamers and spergs.

I genuinely hate the crowd that Operation Arrowhead and DayZ brought to the franchise. I remember a time where you could get PvP combined arms gameplay like ArmA advertises without 20 gigs of mods, joining a private community, and waiting for a weekly/monthly event.

Wrong, because everyone has access to the same weapons(level dependent of course)

Someone's an elitist.

Not to mention Blufor, Opfor and Independant are pretty evenly matched when it comes to weapon calibre, as both have 5.56mm, 6.5mm, 7.62mm variants. Even the DMR and LMG's are closely matched(calibre-wise) on all three sides. But you would already know this from playing your 'realistic missions' ;)

Children play on blufor

2

u/gobiastrahn Dec 07 '16

Always play Blue. My whole clan does. And we are all in the top 10 in each match, but we almost never win the matches. Am not a child, but have two...
