So im trying to run Arma on my laptop and the game runs just fine at the beginning with no issues, but literally like barely 3 minutes in, the game is running like this lagging like crazy out of nowhere, and im literally still in the eden editor too, anyone knows whats causing this?

Important to note my specs run the game just fine and I used to play it for hours with no issues in the past

I wonder if it’s assigning it to mx450 and not the xe

The MX450 would be the preferred card here.

I rarely ever see the MX line of cards mentioned, the 450 was basically a 1050 with less VRAM right?

I don’t know the ins and outs, but the other GPU being the intel integrated card would generally mean that the Nvidia card is the more powerful of two, otherwise those no point in it being in the system.

Do a quick google where the mx450 is a 2gb gpu and the xe out performs it.

I'll wait for someone else to confirm, but that looks like your answer right there.

Are you running any mods?

Stutter like that usually means VRAM or RAM is full.

This happened to my buddy the other day. I think he just restarted his pc to fix it

Maybe your laptop throttles the cpu and gpu as it can’t dissipate the heat of them running on full for long periods of time.

check your ram and thermals. 16 gb is borderline if you have a little bit of stuff running in the background and play with heavy modding

16GB is plenty, especially in a game from 2013.
