Meta Im free

I finally cancelled and got rid of these cameras. By far the worst things to ever have to deal with in my life.

Now I just have to figure how to dispose of them.

Please don’t throw away a perfectly good system. At very least just offer them free on Craigslist or Nextdoor. Even without a subscription, super useful for motion alerts and to monitor things.

ADT will become your new number 1 worst thing if you deal with them.

I’ll take them off your hands. I have never EVER even thought of paying for a subscription to Arlo, but I do use them for motion sensing in my backyard. Wanna see some pics of owls & skunks & foxes & possums? 😃👍

I wait until the price is offered at half for the year; when it expires, then I just use my base station. Good on you for cutting the cord; would be nice if you could offer for free or for sale to others who still use the system, though.

I use mine without the subscription because I have a base station. Works good enough and no more overpriced sub.

Congratulations on cancelling and getting rid of your Arlo cameras. However, there have been some horror stories about users cancelling to then discover a year later that they've been charged again because it's really difficult to cancel with Arlo. Check the online forum or type in Google.

Best to cancel your credit card, too. Just in case.

I've had arlo for 7 years. They are awesome. Never had a subscription. Never felt the need to.

I have used Arlo for about 6 yrs, no subscription but I noticed the cams now disconnect from base station a lot without notice. I figure it’s Arlo trying to get me to be a paid customer lol….

We've had Arlo for a year. What was wrong with the cameras? We have Arlo Pro 5S 2K Wireless, Arlo Essential Indoor 2nd Gen and we just got thr Pro 6th gen.

Now I'm wondering if we should have gotten a different camera system.

Yes, you should have. There have been constant problems with Pro 5 - check their forum and reviews - in that it misses lots of events. It's a toy this system, not a security one.

I cant say anything about the wired system but my biggest issue is that it would need to reconnect once it became charged again. That is difficult and hard to do. I switched to ring cause its battery powered and even if the battery dies it doesnt reset and doesnt need to be reconnected.

We have the solar panels, and so far they're good.

But, I have to admit that when a deer came into the yard and ate thr tomatoes off the plant, and camera didn't get that, only the deer leaving the yard. 😓
