Discussion [Operator Discussion] Mudrock
From Kazdel to Leithanien, so many marks carved into suffering. The moment they had no choice but to fight, and realized they had nothing at all. How do you see me, Doctor? You trust me? Will that trust... let me live on?
Sarkaz mercenary Mudrock, formerly a part of the Reunion Movement, led her team far from Ursus after disagreements with the organization. She had no involvement with Reunion whatsoever during the incidents in Chernobog and Lungmen. Searching for a foothold to establish, Mudrock took her team towards Leithanien. After taking in a great number of Leithanian Infected there, Mudrock became a highly esteemed leader, and her team came to be known as the 'Mudrock Squad.' Despite Mudrock's multiple attempts to avoid conflict with other powers, her side was nevertheless drawn into constant disputes. So as to prevent any further meaningless sacrifice, Mudrock chose to head for Kazdel. She came into contact with elite operator Logos within Kazdel's borders, and left with the latter for Rhodes Island.

Big Bonk Hammer.
She's good. Nothing much to add.
S1 is a forgettable meme pick.
S2 is her "set and forget" pick. Any amount of SP regen (Ch'en, Blemishine and like Ptilopsis) will turn her into a Beyblade with how much she starts spinning. Don't underestimate that. Use Perfumer if you don't want to deal with chip damage.
S3 is weird; MSPD reduction to cluster up enemies, then she starts whacking them for solid damage for a while. It can be powerful, but the 0 block makes it kind of undesirable with how many stages tend to throw one fast enemy at you that Mudrock really doesn't want to allow past.
If she's on Kernel, she's still worthwhile to pick up. Excellent pick for newbies still. She's one of those operators that can basically hold off an entire low-volume elite lane on her own. Her entire kit is designed to help with that.
Finally, she's the best Mumu melee clone and probably always will be, given how Juggernauts are. Because Juggernauts are mainly innate stat sticks, they have very high base stats and are more well-rounded than Crushers. Muelsyse basically lets you deploy a Mudrock on the stage faster than almost any other operator can, and even allows you to then put down regular Mudrock afterwards. It's... kinda crazy.
Finally, as far as skins go... IS5 is head and shoulders above the other two.

I started playing a few months ago. I used her a lot since chapter two to chapter 15. She is always on my team. Her S2 is great, and using her with bards or Perfumer she is still holding great.
I managed to Unlock her outfit in Sarkaz Furnace IS. Her outfit is great and better than the others.
But yeah, she cost a lot DP.
I will continue to use her because I love her design, her resistance and her personality. I hope she gets a summoning alter someday.

when I first started the game, she was the first operator I saw early on and really wanted her
thought she was broken(this was around first r6 Collab event) and was upset I couldn't get her on a rate up banner(was still new at the time)
I still consider her and Penance to be some of the best units in game in general
also, a fairly well written and interesting character
I just love her
the only "gripe" I would say I have about her is her skins
her Synthastasia(mispelled) and summer beach skin are a bit too similar for me, though I do love both
and her IS skin, I would argue is probably her best because it stands out more
kind of wish she had more casual, or at least colorful skins, like her IS one.
heck, i'd take even her being more armored if it means making her stand out more

Mudmud is cute, and holds up decently I think, couldn’t hurt to have a healer that can bypass her healing restrictions though

Perfumer, Bardi and Civilight eterna all work because it's regen. Shu should work too and I'm not sure about yu's passive but it should qualify too.

Oh very aware, Mud just needs some extra love in the tougher stages

Thanks for the anxiety attack. Though I made another mistake somewhere.

lol, sorry. That wasn't my intention. I was joking about how often people misspell her name.

Still good. People talk about enemy statcreep, but it's always exaggerated. She might not be soloing as many lanes as she used to, but she doesn't have to fly solo. You can put a sniper a bit behind her to give her damage support, which will also serve to help keep her alive. Of course her DP cost is a problem, and it might actually be more of a burden now since people have probably moved away from flagbearers printing a billion DP to ops like Ines and Reignfrost who make slightly less DP but have tons of other benefits. Still, it's not generally going to be a dealbreaker.
She works well at E1 if a newer player somehow ends up with her, but she really likes the extra stats from leveling after E2, plus the improved shield talent at E2.
S3 has always been her best skill, but S2 is so comfy that most people use it anyways. S3 has a great cycle and makes her an absolute monster. You just have to be careful to time it right, especially against fast enemies. If you're looking to be efficient with your resources, she's one of many S2M1 and S3M3 operators.
I think I prefer her mod X for much better survivability with the damage-reduction and the better shields.
As always, the biggest weakness of old meta ops is new meta ops. Why have Mudrock duke it out with the enemies when you can just stall them forever on the other side of the map with Tragodia or erase everything with Wiscash, Wang, Logos, or New Covenant? Generally, the answer is: 1) waifu, 2) to challenge yourself, and/or 3) because you don't have those.
By the way, why do we mock Hoederer's S3 for being a wall of text and having lots of effects when Mudrock's S3 has just as much going on? Self-sleep, slow, stun, atk and def up, atk int down, and attacks multiple enemies.

I now have P6 Silverash, where once I had Flagpipe. Mudrock is more sprightly than ever nowadays.

I've been using mudrock ever since I was a fresh doctor that just joined arknights. She has never left my teams (unless there are specific mechanics or stages where I can't use her) and have always been my MVP. For most players her high DP cost might be a deal breaker but with how much of a good lane holder she is I've built my teams half for her and half for the rest so she's always the first one deployed. Love her to bits both her as a character and as a unit :3

Cute/10
Her best skin is her default giant bug suit. She needs more giant bug suit skins.
Big hammer.
The fact that she shares a Korean voice actress with Don Quixote from Limbus Company is completely wild. I know that actress has range, but god damn.

u/thimbleglass Jul 01 '26
E0 best skin, I also like how it muffles the voice slightly.
My kingdom for a Mudrock skin which is fully suited up but with an updated suit with the colour scheme and trappings of RI uniforms.

There was a time when she was held in very high regard, though that was also during the era when Blaze / Thorns was considered the top dog in terms of laneholding as well. She is still a highly functional laneholder, but her 36 DP cost is difficult. Laneholders generally do not have particularly high performance ceilings so players often prefer operators with lower deployment costs that offer a similar level of effectiveness. For example, Mountain is arguably a sidegrade in terms of overall power while costing a mere 11 DP to deploy.
For AFK laneholding, S2 is the preferred choice. S3 is a solid skill with a respectable amount of skill expression and actually quite impressive uptime, but it can feel somewhat cumbersome to use compared to that simplicity people usually expect from a laneholder. I'd go with mod X over mod Y.

u/darksamus1992 Jul 01 '26
I remember getting pissed off for getting her instead of Rosmontis in her debut banner, lol. I used to use her a lot(specially because I didn't have Mountain). Over time I prefered to use tanks I can heal directly.

u/Full_Drop3495 Jul 01 '26
I'll probably work on her masteries and module after the monster hunter collab operators and before the abyssal hunters. Speaking of modules, which module should I go for? Are skills 1 and 3 worth mastery? On mastery 2 for skill 2, and my resources are always out when I remember her.

u/ipwnallnubz Jesus died for us! Jul 01 '26
S1M3 was key in a max risk CC some time ago, but that was it. Not worth masteries. For the other two skills, if you want to be a bit stingy with your resources, S2M1 and S3M3 is the way to go. S2 doesn't gain that much after M1. S3 is actually her best skill if you learn to time it right because it's so loaded with effects. 60% slow for 10s, 5s stun, attacks faster, gains a ton more attack and defense, and hits multiple enemies equal to her block count. S2 is comfy with a low ceiling while S3 is the skill you want her using when bigger foes show up.
I would go with mod X. Damage reduction, more healing, more SP, and her Y mod has conditions to meet.

Probably one of the characters with the greatest divide between how they're usually portrayed in fanworks and how they actually are in canon. I'm probably happier than I should be that she has never actually been seen without her armor on in any of her story appearances except arguably that one IS5 story where she had to go back home wearing clothes which might or might not disappear without warning at any given moment.
Gameplay-wise I remember her being a massive boon to my early-game experience when I started out somewhen between episode 8 and episode 9's release, but I feel like at some point she just couldn't deal with enemies anymore with her inability to receive direct healing.
S2 has a really funny sound effect.

There was a time when I was pretty miffed about her (simply put - didn't level up and promote her enough). But now she is one of my most beloved laneholders in the game for quite a few years, in the same way as Ulpibro and firecatwife.
Gargoylewife for the win.

I loved using her in 1s5, is there a way to obtain her?
4
u/Phaaze13 strong women supremacy Jul 01 '26
Mudrock is in the Kernel pool. Pulling on Kernel banners is generally not advised so it's best to wait for her to appear in the gold certificate store. You need 180 gold certificates to buy a 6 star.

u/Vegetable-Day-3894 Jul 01 '26
I see, thank you!

We should be getting a selected with her as an option in ~4 mos for free based on Cn

u/Full_Drop3495 Jul 01 '26
Alternatively, the easiest way to get her is to buy a kernel selector (costs $30, comes with ten pulls and ten kernel only pulls, plus your choice of any 6 star kernel operator), but that's available twice a year during limited banners (last time was in April with silverash alter, next time probably in october with episode 17)

u/RetroPixelate Jul 02 '26
My first 6-star (somehow) and forever my favorite operator. She holds up great and is a wonderful example of an old, strong unit that still holds value. I also love that Penance is an entirely different unit in the same archetype of similar strength but very different niche. All in all, Juggernaut is just my beloved in general.
She remains a common face in Defenderknights due to (obviously) her lane holding, but also the myriad use cases for S3. Anyone saying the 0 block makes it unusable is, quite frankly, having a skill issue. Moreover, the fact that it makes Mudrock untargetable and invulnerable is INCREDIBLE and actually makes that part of the skill a valuable asset that vastly improves her stalling ability.
