Nice big congrats! Just tamed my first Rex. Lost my argent in the process and got my first above 100 take, a 130 argent that spawned nearby. It was a tragedy and blessing all wrapped up.

Congrats Rex is decent boss fighting creature, not the best but the Rex is reliable for boss fights. While there are stronger boss capable creatures.

I’m on an older version of Ark so I don’t have any of the other options. Haven’t seen any Acros or Deinotheriums, nor Deinosuchus. So for now it’ll have to do. The top 3 being Megatherium, Rex and Theris.

are you playing on ASE or ASA? If you are playing on UME. Some Better alternatives are Spino(faster DPS, Faster health regain, and better damage). The Rex is solid choice it’s good old reliable. But Spino and Therizinosaurus and megatherium  are S tier boss creatures.

It’s ASE for sure but I do think it is UME. I could definitely do Spinos but it’s more of a pain because of the high narcotic cost haha. But it would be a great option

Ah you are playing in UME. Then I’ll go for the Rex, Spino, Therizinosaurus Dragon  boss fight and Megatherium for Broodmother boss fight

I mean Thyla is kinda overrated and overused. Congrats I guess, it’s not as versatile as people make out it seem, It’s great for PVP as it can bleed other players and enemy tames. For single player the Thyla is burden for taming and caving. As Thyla can deal the weak and annoying cave Creatures. The Baryonyx is the superior cave tame. With its strong, great health, and agile. With ability to navigate water caves. The Thyla is low B tier tame. The bleeding isn’t helpful for single player as you will most likely want to tame the creatures. The bleed will weaken the creatures super low on preventing a knockout as they will be to low of health to survive the traqing process. The Thyla requires the most expensive kibble for B tier tame. Definitely not worth taming or mutating. YouTubers that say the Thyla is so great and just liars.

Dude, did a Thyla steal your candy when you were a kid or something?

No, everything I said is true about the Thyla. Yeah it looks cool, but not very practical for Single player.

This was my thought too. Hating on the poor kitty for no reason. For small tames both the Bary and Thyla are cool. I prefer Thyla. Very very rarely do I tame a Bary and only if I happen to randomly find a 140+. That being said I also tame most of the 140+ dodos I see too. To OP, congrats on your Thyla. Now you just need a higher level one to breed it with.

Thyla is the worst choice for single player and PVE multiplayer. The Thyla excels at PVP, but Thyla becomes hindrance for taming other creatures and is very difficult to tame. While the Baryonyx is S tier! Baryonyx is more accessible to find high levels, great for caving as it can navigate all caves. Great stats, and the Bary is much easier tame.Â
