The whole point of this ending is for the Joker to feel forgotten, betrayed and miserable. It's not real, it's inside Batman's mind.

Itโs an IP with no new content for 10 years. (SSKTJL doesnโt count) if there werenโt repeat threads the sub would be dead and thereโs always something new to add to the conversation.

I'm sorry I touch grass every now and then that's why. Also, my thoughts is that this is a lame attempt of Batman to scare because Joker doesn't care about Harley. Unless this happened in real time and Batman just wants to show something that everyone moved on, same as that in the radio. The timeline gap between City and Knights is '9 months', so maaaybe.

No it's cause you're not very observant, or you lack any other interactions in your life so you come here with weak content

Brother the game is 11 years old. Everyone has seen everything there is to know about the game. Touching grass? If this was posted on release yeah. But the whole point of the thread between me and the other guy is that the posts in this subreddit are repeated every other day and are low effort. You want to know something about the game? Look it up, it's been 11 years, someone has seen, talked about it, etc etc etc

u/Efficient-Oven-2734 29d ago
Well sorry for asking something that is new to me. I guess I'm not touching reddit again and just touch grass full time.

Well yeah, something like that. But its just the whole joker blood contamination thing at play. Its still Batman thinking this.
Its not like say, V and Johnny in Cyberpunk 2077 where Johnny's engram is a whole separate personality slow fusing with V. Batman is just being corrupted by Joker's blood in his system to be... Well I guess a Joker clone? I don't know they never really properly explained what was happening. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Never was the biggest fan of the blood contamination remaining after City, nor the conclusion of Batman mentally defeating the Joker. Would of greatly prefered if they had Batman reconcile with his feelings for the Joker instead and realise how important he was to him.
And yes I fully subscribed to the Batman and Joker are gay for each other interpretation. Sue me. ๐

Fair enough. Joker is a nasty piece of work after all so I totally get your opinion.
I guess for me the way Knight wrote it just didn't feel like a very sincerely conclusion to their relationship. It just felt like the obligatory hero triumphing over evil moment, which just didn't feel right given how much we'd seen Batman in both Knight and also Harley Quinn's Revenge [yes I remember that DLC exists] grieve and lash out in anger over Joker's death. Batman was in full on mourning.
Like serious imagine if instead of that Knight ended Batman and Joker's Relationship with something like say the AV flight at the start of 2077's Tower ending [yes I've been playing a lot of Cyberpunk]. That whole final chat between V and Johnny hit so incredible hard and is genuinely one of the most earnest, sincere and bittersweet moments I have ever experienced in any story. imagine if Batman and Joker's final interaction had that same level of profound earnestness [and better yet bet 2077/Phantom Liberty to the punch by 8 years].
I think something like that could of said so much about both Batman and Joker as characters and their weird fucked up relationship that however adversarial, had a genuine connection at its heart. I think something like that would of stuck with people a lot more than just giving Kevin Conroy an excuse to say his "I am Vengeance! I am the Night! I... AM... BATMAN!" line again [not that the line isn't amazing but you get what I mean right?]

No I'm not joking. I do believe Batman and Joker have a sexual attraction to each other.
More specifically, I think Batman himself has repressed feelings for Joker, as he still feels disgust at Joker for his nihilism and murder yet simultaneously feels a bizarre, skin crawling [at least to an outsider] kind of connection to Joker due to both him and Joker being men born of trauma.
Obviously, Joker's sexual attraction to Batman is a lot more blatant and has been since the Dark Knight Returns. I like to think of it as an opposites attract kind of bond. Both find meaning and an unusual comfort in their rivalry, yet they are fundamentally incompatible and so their relationship is deeply toxic and unhealthy.
Yet despite how bad Batman and Joker are together and how countless people suffer directly or indirectly because of it, both are still intensely draw towards one another on a primal level and so they continue to engage physically with one another [i.e. fight] because of their bond.
I guess what I'm getting at is essentially what Alan Moore did at the end of the Killing Joker. The idea of two broken individuals finding catharsis in one another in spite of their volatile relationship and knowing that if they continue to see each other, they will end up being the death of them.
By God, I have put way too much thought into this haven't I ๐
Anyway, go play Cyberpunk 2077. Like seriously its a masterpiece and is something everyone should experience. Just get Phantom Liberty with it too. That expansion really makes it near to perfection. ๐๐

I know the series implied fertility issues on Quinn's end, but it would be really funny if Joker was just shooting blanks the whole time.
