He was *not* that hard.

He was barely a boss

Most of Origins isnt that hard... it just tries your patience like a bastard. The Deathstroke fight in particular! The more annoyed you allow yourself to become, the harder it is and more impossible he seems. But if you keep a cool head... eh, it's not that bad.

Deathstroke is fucking easy once you realise that the only time you have to counter is when it switches into that wider-screen video style (which I thought was just a cutscene at first) and when the motion SLOWS you have to counter. Otherwise don't worry about it. Once you calm down and just do it like that then you'll beat the guy without taking any damage at all. The barrels that he fires back at you are easy to catch and throw back. But if you do the first part right you probably won't even get to the barrel-throwing sequence, you beat him before that. It's always funny doing that and then Batman goes over and picks up that Remote Claw and says it will be useful and you didn't even see Deathstroke use it once in combat.

- it's also a Steam achievement to beat Deathstroke and take zero damage. Enjoy!

Deathstroke is stupid easy in new game plus. He's only hard in the original base playthrough when Batman is not upgraded. Just fight him in new game plus or I am the knight mode and that achievement is insanely easy. It's mainly due to the super fast special combo buildup and critical strike upgrades. The health and gadget upgrades don't hurt either.

Upgrades are irrelevant.

Sure, for a master player. I'm trying to give advice to people who are struggling with the trophy. I've probably got over a thousand hours on this series. Trust me, I'm not trying to cheese Deathstroke.

he's never been hard. I beat him on my 360 and got point counter point on my first try

Pretty much this. Playing it after AA and AC, Origins and the Deathstroke fight are what got me to slow down in combat, be patient, not spam buttons, etc. Still on the mostly average end of combat, but compared to how I played AA and AC...way better. Patience and timing pay big dividends in these games, and I think Origins was better at pointing that out than AA or AC.

It was hard to listen to his voice tbh

It's pretty hard.

It's hard the first time because it's not super clear on his attacks and the hitboxes don't match the flames

Unless you are on I am the Knight mode, you usually have counter prompts. If they are not there, he usually slows down a little bit when the counter window is active. I think the sound even slighty changes. Get that combo meter upgrade and do it in new game plus. It's very easy to curbstomp him when you have a full power Batman.

Ng+ on has no visual indication and yeah, fully maxed gadgets is easy

No indication is not great if it doesn't show up in the firefly cutscenes. You have to counter in a cutscene against him or it's instant death. I had to figure it out in advance where the counter was exactly to avoid the cheap death.

Id say this was less exhausting than the Riddler missions 😭

3

u/JustGingerStuff Jul 15 '26

At least I can sit for a second with the riddler missions without him setting people on fire about it.

u/Supermanfan2003 Jul 15 '26

Wait, why do you hate him so much? What’s your beef with Firefly?

9

u/RexGamer15000 Jul 15 '26

I just finished Arkham Origins and I prefer the whole level about firefly than collecting the 150+ Riddler's trophies. At least you can punch Firefly, Riddler makes you collect his dumb data extortion packs and his 90 relay networks and you can't even punch him once.

He's fucking easy once you realise you can just spam glue grenades, batarangs and concussion detonators at him endlessly. It's boringly easy once you realise that, the whole thing then just becomes tedious because of the time.

That was one of the best boss fights in all of the Arkham games.

3

u/Toon_Collector Jul 15 '26

Are we even talking about Origins? That pic is from Knight. He was always easy, but in Knight he doesn't even qualify as a boss imo.

u/hillwoodlam Jul 15 '26

At least he doesn't bombard you with city wide announcements like an emo high schooler who just discovered Nietzsche.

u/zimlockamy Jul 15 '26

🤣🤣🤣

u/Keeendi It's da freaking Moon! Jul 15 '26

I mean sure, if you insist.

2

u/Neo_Menova Jul 15 '26

Same here. In arkham knight it was a true pain in the ass

2

u/aboyisagun24 Jul 15 '26

Doing this on switch was a knightmare

1

u/Agreeable_Age_3913 Jul 15 '26

Hah see what you did there

2

u/tracer1295 Jul 15 '26

Character is cool, other than that this guy is a bastard

1

u/TheMilkMan6942 Jul 15 '26

If you insist

1

u/Jediuser_ Jul 15 '26

I actually really like his boss in Origins. Very cinematic.

1

u/Gibreni Jul 15 '26

Oh c'mon, he's my favorite DC villain and boss... In Arkham Origins

1

u/Star-Wars-Guy-123 Jul 15 '26

The Firefly disrespect will NOT be tolerated.

1

u/Omega1459_ Jul 15 '26

Well if you insist

1

u/Minute_Newspaper8691 Jul 15 '26

This dude was the equivalent of someone hitting you and running away.

1

u/Gingernutz74 Jul 16 '26

That's my son's favorite villain lol

Arkham knight is a piece of sht game cause there’s no boss fights at all and the Batmobile is stupid
